Raymarine 620 gps & SL70 Radar

I have a problem with two pieces of my electronics; GPS and Radar. They both are of the 1998 vintage with monochrome screens and appear to work. The problem is that the screens can barely be seen. I have already adjusted the contrast and brightness to no avail. It would appear that the screens may have some burn in to the display. Any ideas

You can try to upgrade them to the color version of the same vintage. You will probably not be able to find new units but should have no trouble finding some used.

I have a 620+ that failed 4 or 5 years ago. At that time it was "relatively" new and I sent it to Raytheon under flat-rate repair. It was pricey (but still way cheaper than a new unit) and got a new screen, CPU, etc. Might touch base with RM to see if they'll still service them.

Honestly, though it might be time for an upgrade. Those units are so far behind the curve now it doesn't make sense to put money into fixing them IMO. My 620+ is on a second boat that I don't use much, but now I find the slow processor speed/screen re-draw of those old units almost frustrating.
