Hello everyone, I am a new boater but i am very familiar with automotive. This problem has me stumped. the port side throttle cable was adjusted because it was taking to long to go into reverse. Now it goes into reverse and forward fine but i cannot get the throttle only button to press in. Any clues would help. It was tricky -but possible before the adjustment. Thanks in advance

Is it in true neutral? If you had the cable adjusted maybe it shortened the "sweet spot" where it would allow the throttle only mechanism to engage? What do you see when you take the handle off?

Ah hah, a sweet spot, that makes sense. I wasnt sure if it was a hardware problem. Is there a way to adjust this spot?or is this an indicator that i may need new throttle cables. The adjustment that the mechanic made for the port side reverse is by the transmission if im not mistaken, correct?
I took the handle off of the controller but didnt take the metal housing that connects both controllers apart for fear that I would not be able to get it back together by not following any steps prior to taking it apart.
