my marina has a complicated checlist for winterizing....

1) oil- regular or synthetic (i have a searay sundeck...hmmm does it matter)

2) fresh water system care---does this mean tap water system or fresh water cooling system which i DONT have....if tap water system...cant i just turn on sink until all water is out...or do they do something special besides this

3) pump out head care....cant i just pump out head (or do they put something in there to maintain it too???

thanks a ton

gonna pay to take out drive this year.....prob do it every year??

1. Oil is a matter of preference, and what you want to spend...

2. If you only run the fresh water out of your system, there will still be water in the lines and pump and that will freeze. The water in the pipes either has to be blown out, or anti-freeze needs to be added to the water system... I blow mine out with my compressor.

3. The head needs to be pumped out, and the system winterized... You can pump it out yourself. You can pour antifreeze in the head and flush it through the system... You need to do you water system first, because you will have get the water out of the line that goes to the head...

4. On my Sundeck, I leave the drive on, saves the money for the gaskit set, and labor. If left on, it needs to be winterized with the engine... Also, I have heard of drives be stolen if left on... Depends on where you keep the boat...

1) I would go regular oil it's cheaper
2) Run all water out of system on your boat you should have 5 depends on options head sink, cockpit sink, swim platform, head, and forward wash down. Make sure you get all the water out each nozzle. Then take about 2 to 3 gallons of pink non toxic antifreeze pour it into water tank. Next turn on pump and make sure to turn on each nozzle till pink comes out then your done
3) Pump out head and pour pink antifreeze down and flush
Do it like this and should be no problems
