I just bought a JL MX500/4. Should be a nice improvement if so.

120w I'm assuming I'm pushing 30 watts per speaker?
Huh..I just found the manual in my bag....The speakers are connected in parallel, 2 per side. So I must be at 20W RMS. The way it is now sounds pretty loud. WOW... this should be a nice upgrade.Depends on if that 120W is peak or RMS and if the speakers are 4 ohm and in parallel.
That's good. Reading the specs on the new amp it's only 55w RMS at 12.5v per channel. I was hoping for more. Says 70w at 14.3v. The speakers are JL MX650's.That will be a HUGE upgrade, as long as your speakers can handle it.
This is a 2 channel amp right? 4 ohms per channel? I don't ever use the fade anyway. Just talked to the salesman. He has one in stock and will swap it out. Said it was a good amp also. If I add my 7.7s this year I'll just have to get another amp..lol. Or use my old 120x2 Clarion for now.Out those listed, the Kicker KXM400.2 come highly recommended, and will deliver 100W rms to each speaker. Just note, its not a pocket-amp like the MX and you will not have fade. It deserves 4ga power cabling as well.
yes, its a 2 chnl, but with four 4 ohm speakers, each chnl will see a 2 ohm load. this = 200W rms x 2, for a net of 100W to each speaker. This is a 2 channel amp right? 4 ohms per channel?
It looks like that amp is discontinued and replaced with KXMA400.2. I'll make sure this is the amp I get. I think they have the other in stock.yes, its a 2 chnl, but with four 4 ohm speakers, each chnl will see a 2 ohm load. this = 200W rms x 2, for a net of 100W to each speaker.
Yes, its a great amp. Ive used a number of them.
I already have a seperate amp for the sub. That amp cost a lot.Did you consider a JL m700/5? Great amp for 4 speakers and a sub.
That's what I thought. I'm going there today to make sure he doesn't get me the retired one. It's being sent from his other store.Yes, the KXM model is retired and the KXMA is the current model. If paying retail or close to it, id want the current model. For a retired model, id look to be about 50% off retail.
