What is everyone's process to clean below the water line after haul out? I know a lot of yards just pressure wash, but I've read that has a negative effect on the life of the paint. We have brand new paint this year so I don't want to shorten it's life. If not pressure washing, just a scrub to remove the slime? We're fresh water if that matters

Are you using ablative or hard paint? Ablative is what I use and I pressure wash at haul out. It's much easier to do it wet. I then overcoat in the spring...I do the entire hull.

I should have specified, it is ablative. Pettit hydrocoat SR fresh this season. Was hoping to get a couple years out of it I was thinking a light wash to remove any buildup yet not remove too much paint

Mine has been pressure washed 6 seasons since last time entire hull was painted with the same as yours. I might breakdown and do it again next spring. We put 50 hours in salt a year, and the Hydrocoat had been a winner.

The idea behind ablative paint is that it wears down with use and doesn't build up to the point where you have to grind it down and start over.

Manufacturer recommends, touch up where it needs it.
