Pre-purchase checks for 185

I am looking at purchasing a 2006+ Sea Ray 185 and I am wondering if there are any specific areas of weakness in these boats? Anything that I should be looking for on the pre-purchase inspection?

Have an inspection done...take for sea trial...go enjoy the boat.

I agree I am new to this type of boating myself. I have built seven boats (mostly sail boats) over that past fifteen years and I believe the best way to be sure is to get a pre-purchase inspection. That is what I did. In fact I bought mine used from a dealer with a warranty. This really paid off. The boat is in for warranty work now it had a lower unit leak. There are many things that can go wrong and it's best to have someone with experience look at it.

I was intending on getting a PPI done. That said, the boat is interstate and I was having a friend look at it before going through the PPI process. Hence the "heads up" on any issues that we should look for.
