I was just out on the Prince William Marina website and saw this on their calendar. This seems to confirm what was in an earlier post about it moving back to Tim's 2 this year.

AquaPalooza

Date:July 20, 2013
Time: Noon until dark

Notes/Message/Description:
Tim's 2 at Fairview Beach. Details will be posted as they become available

The state of MD is so wonderful it has a new law that you have to apply for permit and possibly pay for DNR/CC/Police/Security presence for groups over 100.
Guess we will never have one again!

Actually, the way the river is divided, Tim's 2 is at least partially considered to be in Maryland because the restaurant is on the pier over the river. I know that they used to sell Keno there just like in Maryland. So, I'm guessing they had to do that permit anyway.

SeaRay confirms the date and location that Prince William has on their site.

Whos going? If the weather is good I'll be heading down.

Ryan,

We will probably go this year depending on the weather. Maybe we'll overnight this year.

As Michele highlighted in the PWYC LifeLine, unfortunately Sea Ray won't be providing free t-shirts for this year's event at Tim 2--can buy there. Should be a GREAT time, but weather always seems to play havoc at the bend of the river.

See you all there.

I know I'm gonna go this year! Glad that they moved it back to Tims instead of Giligans. I'll more than likely be staying the night.

Could be our first via water this year. #2 due any week now and that weekend could sync up with a grandparent visit.

Wife and I will be there providing no more emergencies.. Last year was signed up to go and I ended up in the hosptal that weekend so didn't make it, so Hope things go better this year.

Anyone else coming from Colonial Beach? There are 2 of us so far, would like to have more to travel together.

Barry

Our plan, if the weather holds, is to leave DC around 11am. It should take us about 2 hours to get to Tims II.

Hey guys

we are still on the fence about going but i thought i would share an email i received about the land based and the going ashore aspects of management enforcement of the event rules.

From PWM

"Aquapalooza 2013 is here. The largest on-waterboating event is next Saturday July 20th at Tim's II in Fairview Beach. In aneffort to make this day enjoyable for everyone, we want to emphasize that thisis a boating event. You can find information about the activites & music onour website at www.pwmarina.com

As most of you know free t-shirts were not provided by Sea Ray this year. Wewill be selling them prior, during and after the event for $10 each.

Join us this coming Thursday July 18th for the Pre-Palooza Party at TheElectric Palm Restaurant here at Prince William Marina. 95.9 WGRQ will bebroadcasting live from 5pm to 7pm. We will have some free goodies and will beselling AQ t-shirts. We will be donating $1 from the sale of all AQ t-shirtsthat night to IAVA (Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America).

As always we want to have a family fun & safe day

The small town of Fairview Beach can not accomodate the road traffic that thisevent has brought in the past. There will be limited restaruant parking and anyperson parking on the side streets throughout the community will be towed atthe owner's expense. Boaters be sure to load up your passengers and items fromyour dock before you leave. Coolers, backpacks, chairs and other beach typebags as well as any food/beverages of any type will not be permitted on or thruthe restaurant. You will not be able to get to a shuttle boat with any of thoseitems. Tim's II does sell alcoholic beverages to go. ABC regulations will bestrictly enforced.

See you on the water!

key here is see you on the water land based access looks questionable.

We're still weather dependent at this point. But if we go, we'll probably try to get there early afternoon.

Mike

They said something similar when the event was at Tim's I.

We are planning on making the trip down as long as the weather looks good.

What kind of sh!t show should we expect? We will be there around noon and want to make sure we can escape around 5. Ideas on how far out to anchor?

Are we organizing a raft up or just winging it trying to hail one another? Like Dave, I don't plan to stay overnight, though.
