This picture was just before the hurricane.

My 240DA is named #II - reason being that my other boat is a Beneteau First.. or maybe because the ladies in the crew demanded a "private" cabin. ;)

AWOL lll, back in 1970 military school didnt set to well, so many years later its been our name on boats since 1993..............

Noel's Ark II (Captain's name is: Noel)

PLAN B

Just wait until PLAN C...

I named my boat La$t Dollar because the inspiration came at the gas pumps. I was standing there one morning topping off the tank for a day on the river when suddenly I realized I would probably end up spending my last dollar to go boating. It's that important! When I shove it off the trailer this spring it will start my 51st year of boating. I will never forget that day in May 1962 at the age of 15 when I pushed that 12' plywood yacht with the 5hp Sea King off into a lifetime of a great days on the water. I have never been without a boat. I always buy another before selling the old one. Just don't like the sound of the word boatless!!

Without a doubt, that is the most eloquent description of why we all do what we do.

What a great name for your boat and I agree with you completely. I don't care what gas goes up to, I would spend my last dollar filling the tanks and worry about the rest later.

Thanks! My son who is also a Sea Ray owner (apple does not fall far from the tree syndrome) told me about a post somewhere that was also very appropriate. A fellow had put a question out there asking everyone how much gas they used for an average day on the water. One of the responses was "all of it." Yep, that's us!!

We were expecting our first child, and I just knew God would give us a daughter. If it was a girl we were going to name her Madison (Maddy). I ordered the name "Miss Maddy G" - last name begins with G. I ordered the size and color before she was born and 2 years before I had my current boat. My last boat was not worthy of the name (bayliner) It is amazing how the name fits and matches perfectly on the back of my 1988 340....it was meant to be!

My wife and I are retired and during the Summer, we live on our boat 4 to 5 days a week on average. We have named our Searay Cabin Cruiser "Living the Dream". We felt the name was appropriate.

We named our boat "Serenity Now!" for a few reasons...the first was the admiral saying we should name our first boat "serenity" because of the serene feeling we got when we were on the boat. Me being a perenial jokester and a huge Seinfeld fan came up with "Serenity Now". Since she doesnt share the love of that show with me, she didnt quite understand the humor in it but liked the name just the same. I found humor in the name because we'd have 'serenity' now and we'd be back to "insanity later'. I order the boat name and everywhere i go, Seinfeld fans get a good laugh and stop by to chat with me. A friend of mine at the marina really wants to named his boat "Insanity Later!" and get the slip right next to mine.

You should name the dink insanity later

Hello everyone. My wife and I are finalizing the purchase of our first boat, a 2002 240 Sundancer. We are trying to figure out a good name that fits in with our profession. We are boat pilots so we are looking for something both aviation and boating related. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. Shaun

Old name on the boat when arrived from US was Nancy Sue. Not a catchy name here in Scandinavia.
A quick rename seremony later, and the new name was inspired from the Norhern viking runes and norse mythology:
Jara Wynja
Jara: represents 4 seasons, the life cycle, Yin/Yang, change for better, Take your time, let nature take its course, this rune also represents hopes and expectations for the future.
Wynja: represents luck, self irony, peace and joy, absence of sorrow, living in the present, positivity and playful creativity, love and falling in love ar typical aspects of this rune.
