Ok so we've had some cold temps and over 8" of snow here the last few days, but today is suppose to be a Doozy.
Right now it's 9 degrees outside.
Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Southeast wind between 13 and 16 mph.

Tonight: Snow. Steady temperature around 24. Windy, with a east southeast wind between 21 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 33. Windy, with a southeast wind 27 to 30 mph decreasing to between 14 and 17 mph. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 26. South southeast wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.

In the foothills south of me they are predicting 40-60 MPH winds and gust to 90.
It will be an interesting 24hrs. I just hope the boat's garage doesn't see power outages.

Yeah, I'm getting pretty tired of all this. I was thinking of taking the boat over to Tacoma to top off the tanks for some Christmas cruising later next week- probably not gonna go out with the wind forecasts I'm seeing this morning.

Be thankful though...we moved here from the Midwest. This is what they live with for 3-4 months every year (except way colder)

Talking about 2 degrees tomorrow morning with a high of 7 degrees, 20+ mph winds,
-30+ wind chill.

Bears - Packers Monday Night Football

Ya gotta love it!
Go Bears!

It's a sunny -8 here and has warmed up from -13! Fortunately it's not snowing since we're still digging out from the 25 inches we received Thursday! Not many people getting around on Thursday or Friday. You know the snow is REALLY deep when it comes over the hood of the Burb as you are driving down the street!

Another 5 - 9 expected tonight with more storms on the way! I love this time of year!! I'm going to go WAY out on a limb and say it's going to be a White Christmas!!

Go now before the winds kick up.

Good picture Jim, hang in there.

This is unusual for us. We normally don't get snow, but since Al Gore's movie, this global warming thing is getting serious.

Leaving now to check on the boat.

Todd,

You won't get much simpathy from me. Started snowing here about 2:00 yesterday and it is still going strong. Temp is at 16 with 7 knot winds from the North. So far we have about a foot and I believe we will get another before it stops.

Henry

We've been between -20 C and - 30 C for the past week. Thats -4 F to - 22 F for you still using the old British system :smt001 With wind chill added we've been in the -40s

I heard on the radio that this will be the first time since the mid '70s that all of Canada will have a white xmas.

I sure hope I did the winterization right.

+1 from us out here in the western MA part......I could do without those winds your getting Todd! They don't sounds fun.
Enjoy the snow, it can be fun:grin:

Went and worked out instead. Stopped by the boat on the way back from the gym and ran the engines and genny up to normal operating temps, checked everything over and shut it all down. We are in a covered slip and yet the entire bow was covered with 2 inches of snow.

Snowing hard right now....

Hi, I feel your pain here too, we had 10 inches of snow yesterday with anther 4-6 on the forecast for tommorrow. I think that winter is just beginging by the calender, but it begins for me when she hits the hard. Hang in there :(

I noticed that his movie never discussed the "ice age" in which the entire planet froze over completely before the internal combustion engine, CFCs, etc. were invented. Seems to me that we already had a period of "global cooling" immediately followed by a period of "global warming" without man's help. Convienent how the GW crowd never think of this.

I'll go out on a limb, and say that "global warming" is just a natural weather cycle. Shoot.. we didn't invent a way to record temperature until sometime within the past 2000 years. A microblip in geologic time... We need to measure temperature trends longer before any real conclusions can be made.

Al Gore is a big fat boob.:smt021

Being that I just spent the last two hours shoveling 10 inches of snow off the driveway I would say, yes he is indeed a boob (it snows what, once or twice a year here- an inch or two maybe?)

Everyone says this is the worst snow/cold in 40 years around here. I'm sure the "greenies" would say it would have snowed more if it were not for global warming.

Al Gore..."I was raised in Tennessee". Fact: Son of a carrer Senator, and raised in DC.

Al Gore..."Global warming crusader". Fact: He lives in a large mansion in Nashville with a $2000 monthly natural gas bill.

Al Gore...Boating enthusiast...Fact: He owns a 125' houseboat on Old Hickory Lake (tmhudson - have you seen it?).

Al Gore's next social issue? You heard it here first...drum roll please...He's going to say that windpower is taking "too much energy" out of the atmosphere, and it is slowing the earth's rotation rate.

Priceless

Just came in from clearing the driveway.....past 48 hours have dumped roughly 24" on us and the temp is in low 20's.......Feeling your pain Todd!

ditto here finished shoveling, then started raining, weight of the snow broke the strappining under my shrink wrap.......horrified !!!!!
still coverd by wrap but not the vee shape any longer waiting for heat wave (40,45) to re shrink
winter sux !!

It's snowing here again to add to the 10-12" total we have for the last few days.

I'm trying to change return flt reservations and AK airlines has canceled flights for the next two days... Seems Seatac is closed... lovely... must truly be a lot of snow out that way... its wet out here in NY today and the snow is going away... :smt038
