Mustang is coming down to Barnegat Inlet and will overnight on the July 10th on the way down to AC. Any recommendations for a Transient Marina around the Inlet would be appreciated !

Look into high bar harbor yacht club. Clean close to inlet nice facilities

Just park in next to a boat that needs a remodel. He'll be distracted...

I agree that HBHYC is a good/best choice in the area. But, Dale will be passing one of the popular anchorage spots and may consider just dropping a hook for the night.

Dale, let me know if you need any details on both, I've spent tons of time in the area.

Hey Boats,

I wish you Fair Winds and Following Seas – and no water pump problems - on your cruise down. Looking forward to seeing you in nine days.

Our plan was to just anchor in Barnegat, and have a quiet evening. But, we'll take a look at any recommendations. We may stop on the way back also.

Ken, you're probably right.......

Dale can tie up to my water ornament... She looks nice tied to my dock... The best place, as Alex has mentioned, it to anchor next to the Dike adjacent to High Bar Harbor...

New Jersey doesn't have any transient slips. Except for the Golden Nugget and a few places in Cape May. OK, that is a sweeping generalization, but it still odd how few transient slips there are "at the shore".

You have to know who to talk to... I have a good friend whose father runs the SeaSide Park Marina... They have Transcient slips.. I know of many other very nice marinas wher you can get transcient slips... Next time you are up this way, just ask... It is not as easy to find as the where you boat, but there are slips for anyone interested in making the trip...

There's an anchorage inside the inlet. Mooring balls - not sure how you get one but if you're all provisioned-up and you want to stay on the hook thats a beautiful spot. (see arrow)

I know - I've been there! Thanks everyone - We'll be there Thursday, July 10, from around lunchtime, until we leave Friday morning for AC. Marshall, I have your number, so I'll give you a call sometime that day, and we'll make arrangements for your towing....Ooopps, I mean cruising together - to AC.

Marshall, finally someone who can keep up with you!

Tim,

I agree in the sense that NJ ICW is not very popular transiting area, especially between Cape May to AC and in other sections being next to the beaches. However, being there for many years and cruising all over the shore I never had an issue finding transient slips in any area between AC and Point Pleasant, on the inland side.

I'm just being a trouble maker, I'm sure there are transient slips in New Jersey. Just don't stay too long or the green head flies will carry you away.

I had a couple of those flies in my cockpit all the way from AC to NYC a couple years ago - couldn't chase them away.
