Overnight destinations on the Potomac

I don't usually stay overnight. I do go to captain Johns for crabs though. There's pirates den marina there also but I have no first hand experience with them.

Luke, quick question on when you go to Cobb Island. Do you usually come in from the Western entrance (it looks a lot shorter), or do you come in through the Wicomico River. If you've done both, what are the pros and cons.

We've only been there once before and came in from the Wicomico.

Be careful to stay in the marked channel at the western entrance, especially at low tide. I usually go the few extra miles coming in from the river and exit to the north. Every time I have gone in the short way I have hit something not staying in the narrow channel. I haven't gone that way in since the nineties.

Thanks, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Looks like I'll come in from the river, unless it's high tide when we arrive.
