Opinions of Sea Rays Sport Boat Line up. (Caution)

Ok...lets here some feed back. (ducking....)...

I think we ought to submit complete write ups on the boats that we own.............you know the good, bad, and the ugly for every model. Anyone up for that?

How about a thread for each boat? We can title each of them Owner reviews of the 240 Sundeck (or whatever the boat is) and then folks can write their own reviews or comments. But it needs to be only on current models or this can get out of hand. What do you think?

Great, guys..........that makes one more thread that about 94% of the 1233 CSR members don't need to waste time with.

Why make this an exclusive "new boat guy thread" when a very large part of the membership isn't interested in new boats for one reason or another. If this were open to all boats, just think what a great resource it could be for those members who are shopping or considering moving up to a newer bigger boat.

What ever you do, it should be limited to real owners of the model rated and you should require the boat year, model and power in the signature line.

But what do I know.........?

I would think the initial review could be started by an actual owner of that model, but people who cross-shopped it with other models should chime in.

At the end of the day, some people like one thing or another for different reasons, and that might be valuable to others who are cross-shopping models.

This would be one heck of a resource though. As it builds, with more information posted, it would really be something to see.

My first comment will be that 450 Sundancers should have live wells and fishboxes!

Following up on Frank's comments, if you open it up to all models and years there needs to be some way to keep our hands around these reviews so this doesn't get out of hand and we wind up with multiple threads covering a boat which is largely unchanged over the years. For instance the 240SD or the 280DA are essentially the same from 2000 thru 2007. I would suggest only one review thread be started for each. Anyone with a 280 or a 240 could enter their comments regardless of year but in the end you would have a good crossection of those boats.

I would also suggest that a new forum be established for all boat reviews as well. That way they will not disappear into the archives (from other postings) as time goes on which is what would happen if we put them into existing forums.

The next thing is trying to identify which years and models should be grouped into a single thread. The boats I mentioned are no brainers to figure out but others from the 90's aren't (at least for me) unless someone like Frank would identify the "like" years and models for Cruisers and someone else wants to take a stab at Sport Boats as well.

That's my 2 cents for now.

If you don't open the thread up to people who don't own that particular model, then the thread runs a chance of being a story from someone who is "drinking their own bath water" .............

Just my humble opinion.
