i joined CSR a couple of months ago. i was surprised to find that questions and answers were prevalent outside of the boating world. but i joined in and enjoyed the exchange of views. some of the responses to my opinions caused me to go research a particular issue and learn more than i knew. for a while the atmosphere was good, testing my opinions without resorting to personal attacks.

however, as i have previously stated, there are a number of members who are only out to impress the "noisy" kids in the playground. i would particularly like to mention Quint4 and Mistercomputerman as particular examples of this behaviour. i dont mind that - i can see them for what they are immediately. and initially i responded to them.

but right now ive reached the point where its me against CSR. no one has ever posted in support my position on any particular issue.

i think CSR does a great job for boaters with searays and i have received some excellent advice to help me solve problems. there are some excellent, amusing contributors to non-boating issues but the moronic minority tend to post most.

i have therefore decided to view and respond to boating related threads only.

and before those mentionedabove post any "smart" responses, please bear in mind that ALL the CSR membership may view each post.

it would be better to accept my submission gracefully
and quietly. you won.
 
Come on Kevin - don't give in! Don't retreat. Did the US give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I don't know much about Quint but that Mistercomputerman is a real bully! Keep at it and exercise your 1st Amendment Rights!
 
I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that does not translate well over the internet....I was unaware I offended you. Sorry. Are you referring to the joke thread?

And in my history class.. it was the Japanese not the Germans that bombed Pearl.... Your book may differ.

You could do like I do and not read the other forums that are not boat related.

I normally avoid those but your post looked intriguing... you too can just say no and not look...

I left BOC (Bayliner Owners Club) due to the 50/50 posts of boating stuff to non boating stuff.

When CSR gets to being 50/50, I'll avoid this forum as well. :thumbsup:

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: I'm with you 100% on that Doug & CSR will lose my Platinum sponsorship in the deal as well. Surely, there must be somewhere else more appropriate where one can vent & rant on these non-boating related issues.

You know what I find amusing about this forum is the people that participate and then wine about the content. Especially when you are looking for and often receive very valuable information in regards to boating and you own personal boat without even coughing up some sponsorship cash. It is an internet forum and even threads about a specific boating issue can and often contain some nonspecific but often amusing answers.

After being a member a bit longer than you I to have received and learned some very valuable information about boating, but I do enjoy the other “not boat related” threads as well. It makes for a good laugh and worth the price of admission. Why in the hell is everyone so serious now-a-days? Where is the picture of the bunny with the pancake?:huh:

Well I can assure you I didn't get "ugly" with anybody. He slammed me pretty hard and I am not even sure what he is talking about. If you read some of my 1300 plus posts you will quickly see I am pretty low key on here and offer lots of advice when I am quite certain I know what I'm talking about.
But like I said in my prior post, email / internet chat etc. lends itself to misinterpretation very easily.
