Guys,
I was out this weekend with my 2004 185 Sport (4.3L) and noticed something different. My oil pressure guage was fluctuating with my engine speed, this has never happend during the previous three seasons. I currently have an oil leak that the dealer has tried to fix twice--both times it has reappeared within a few hours. I checked the oil level and it was in the middle of the safe range. Is this a problem or nothing to worry about? When running wide open my oil pressure was pegged on the guage at 80, I backed off very quickly.

I guess it is about time to call the dealer again and see who is going to pay for the oil leak this time and discuss the oil pressure. Thanks for any help.

Thanks guys, I just wonder why the oil pressure guage never moved for the first two seasons. Dave, no smartcraft on my boat. As for the oil leak, I am trying one of the other dealerships within Hall Marine that has a higher rated service center so maybe they can actually fix it this time vs cleaning up the bilge and telling me I am good to go.

Another thing Dave, would it be possible to go out with you on your 280 sometime this summer? I am thinking we might want to move up to a Sundancer next and would like to see what the experience is like and see if it is for us. Thanks again,

Daniel

Dan.................we have a 260 not a 280 but we would be glad to arrange something. We keep the boat moored right at Lake Wylie Marina. I am not sure which Hall dealer serviced your boat, but I think very highly of all the techs at Lake Wylie Marina. Rick is the Service Manager at LWM and you should give him a call.

Mine has always changed with RPM's; it's normal. Just make sure you pressure does not fall too low at idle
