I have a 280DA with the 4.3's with only 200hrs. I just noticed oil under one of the engines. I cleaned it all up and ran again - more oil. Only about 10 drops - but still, 200 hours?? The oil is at the front of the engine - I can't tell if it's a front seal or oil pan gasket - are there any known issues with the 4.3's oil seals or oil pan gasket? Can the oil pan gasket be changed without removing the engine? Or does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks for any help

depends in the installation. you need enough room below the engine to clear a pan.

I had a leaky oil plug on my 4.3 in my 190 SD... I had the engine pulled to have it replaced... I am in salt water and that contributed to my leak. Before you go an pull your engine, check and make sure your oil filter is tight and not double gasketed...
