Officially terrified to wax boat now!

I got into fixing up old boats so much I decided to do some detailing on the side. I always use the 3M compound. My lesson learned was that you NEED to wax your boat after you get the chalk out. The UV brings the oxidation RIGHT back.

Sorry, here are some pics of the last boat I buffed IMG-20130429-00545.jpgIMG-20130429-00546.jpgIMG-20130429-00547.jpgIMG-20130429-00548.jpgIMG-20130430-00561.jpgIMG-20130430-00562.jpgIMG-20130430-00564.jpgIMG-20130430-00565.jpg

By the end of the season I get a very light coat of oxidation on the top side. I've been using the 3M cleaner wax with the Porter-Cable orbital and a foam pad with great results. I finish that with the 3M Scotch Guard wax, which is all I use on the hull, the hull never oxidizes due to the lack of sun exposure. According to 3M the cleaner wax is a one step and does leave a very nice finish but, I prefer to use the Scotch Guard as well.
