OFFICIAL - 450DA Owner's Thread****

I attempted my first oil change after owning the boat for almost two months. The previous owner didn’t change the oil last winter due to he was selling it and only put 18 hours on it.
I’m welcome to all feedback like I said it’s my first time and I’m not a professional.

Replaced all screens and gaskets for port windows. Some of them were so cooked from the sun they just fell apart. I also installed a moen facet in the galley. It came with a soap dispenser. The neck of the facet is retractable.

We have the same faucet in our kitchen

Replaced broken foot switches. Does anyone have a link for the locking deck plate

Hello all.
Have enjoyed reading this forum for the last couple years, eventually buying our 450 DA in
June of last year. All of the tips, advice, and support you all have shared is what made us decide to buy our boat, and we don't regret the decision for a second....An absolutely amazing and capable machine for sure! We have loved every minute we have spent on her. But our family keeps expanding and the list of passengers keeps growing (everyone loves this boat!).
We are currently negotiating on a Sundancer 550, so as hard as it will be to sell her, today I listed the boat for sale on BoatTrader. I am located in Isleton CA. I am working on transporting the replacement boat from Florida so perhaps we could negotiate a good shipping solution going to and from.
Boat has been fresh water and covered her whole life. I do know there is a classified thread and will post there and discuss its sale there, but I just wanted to thank everyone for the wisdom and inspiration you've given.

Same situation for as we are about to list our new to us 1996 450DA for sale. Fresh water it’s entire life, kept in a covered slip (except for the last 4 months). Spent a ton on upgrades, etc.

Pics, description and official ad coming by this weekend. Boat is on the Upper Chesapeake Bay.

These 450's are incredible machines, aren't they! Every time I take mine out here in the California Delta, I get the wakeboard boats that come along side to take videos. And you should see the looks and the thumbs up when they see my son or son-in-law doing flips across my wake on their wakeboards!

Are you moving up in size? If so, to what? Share some pics. Enjoyed reading your posts in this thread.

I was going to post mine on the classifieds portion of this forum but apparently they only allow Pay Pal as a method of payment.....I don't do Pay Pal.
Now I remember why Im not a sponsoring member even though I wanted to be when I signed up.o_O

I am 100% bound by budget so I will be "limited" to a 42/44 Sedan Bridge. Looked at a newer 42 SunDancer today which is nice but they are north of 265k here for an 03/04.

Stopped by and checked out a 44DB this evening and my god did we find our next boat! But, it's too expensive and apparently the owner has rejected all offers and it sticking to his asking price.

Anyway, I've got a really nice 45DA to sell before I can seriously entertain any boat. Added AquaTraction decking (7k) new Raymarine Axiom 12 Pro w/Quantum radar (10kish installed), new dash panels, all new Faria Chesapeake Gauges, Aetna digital tachometers, 2 new refrigerators, a kick ass JL Audio stereo system with 4 M6 and 10" sub in the cabin and 4 M6, 2 10" subs and a Fusion remote in the dash (10k). All blue LED lights....boat is awesome, looks and sounds great and it a fantastic deal in this range. Recent survey in March, etc. I'll post all the details in the ad. 3126 420hp Cats with 1300hrs. Without pulling out the calculator I've probably got 30k in upgrades done since I bought the bought in April.

Absolutely love the 45 we have, its a beast, huge, fast and economical. Fits a ton of people, etc but we need something that will sleep more people. The 45 instills confidence, is a breeze to handle and dock, sips fuel and is like a self contained little townhouse on water.

rough night last night I kissed a sand bar and dinged my prop. going to have it pulled tomorrow. i was going to see if i could get a set of used props until mine get fixed. does anyone know the specs with 3126. I'm guessing they should be the same. for some reason i recall 24 by 24
but looking at my survey the guy wrote down 21.5 by 26

My 1997 450 with CAT 3126 engines had Michigan Dyna Quad Nibral 22x24 props. Engines reached 2800 rpm (2810P, 2817S).

Hello all - newish guy here. I've finally been able to update my profile to read "1998 450 Sundancer". It's being hauled home on Tuesday. Many thanks to Frank for his input along the way. We had several 450's fail survey - which was pretty disappointing, but we think we found a winner. I'll post some photos when she arrives, but she's headed into MX first for initial servicing (oil, filters, hydraulic fluid, zincs, etc). My wife and I are pretty excited. We live on the Gulf of Maine with a deep water pier in a protected harbor. By boat, we're very close to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, but we're very far from everything by car. The 450 will open up many weekend options for us. August is going to be amazing! Then it's winter...ahhh Maine!
