I think I've got similar problems with my port engine. I'm thinking about pulling the heads myself and had a couple of questions for you:
1. I'm assuming that you did this with the engine in the boat and boat in the water, is that correct? Yes, and yes.
2. How difficult is it to get at everything? Can you get a torque wrench in there, etc. I can handle pulling and replacing the heads if I have access. I was able to get a torgue wrench everywhere except one of the intake manifold bolts on the right side close to the plenum.
3. Any other tips that you might have?

How does that refrigerator do in the heat of summer?
