Official 390 E.C. Thread

Yes, the Data Marine DM 600 unit that came with my 390 measured all three parameters. As a side note, I'm happy to report that still does! As I was pulling the unit, I found light corrosion at its fuse holder. This apparently reduced the voltage to the point where the unit would turn on, but the digital display would randomly loose segments. Just rotating the fuse in its holder solved the display issue. I wish all boating issues were that easy to resolve!

I have the original speedo on the boat i forget who makes it. I have a big wheel under starboard motor. it stopped working a few weeks back I'm guessing its filled with growth

I recently purchased my 1989 340 EC. I am going to update the cockpit seats. The seatbacks are broken on the captains seat and passenger seat. Has anyone repaired these or do you know where to purchase replacements?

I have two 1989 390 original bar stools that I will sell you. They are sound, sturdy, heavy, just need to be refinished. Make me an offer, shipping cost will be your responsibility.

Hi guys - I have my first water in my compartment. Forward cabin in the Head is pretty saturated. It did rain last night, and I have not had a lot of time to poke around. first culprits are likely window and stanchions. Any other ways to check and trouble shoot this? I feel like it's pretty saturated for how much it rained.

I hate to say but when those compartments start geyying wet it is usally the water tank leaking. if you remove the center hatch there is a wall that can unscrew and u can see the tank if its leaking u will see the water there. I had a window leak and u can see the trail as it went into the compaertment

If you have water in the forw. cabin, it could also come from the shower sump and/or the shower drain hole...or even from the forw. a/c condensation pan or pipe.

I hoping its the shower sump. I feel like it's been louder as of late when I'm showering. I just don't think there is a hatch to look in there without cutting a hole in the floor. We have the hallway hatch, but that's pretty limited view.

I don't think the main tank would leak forward to the head and on to the carpet. I could be wrong there. I'd have to assume it would stay in the storage areas under the floor.

Well on second thought I don't know if I should have wished for the shower sump. That is the culprit. No water is being dumped out of the boat, and you can hear it spraying into the floor. The hose either is cracked or lose. I will spend some time sipping some scotch and searching through the rebuild threads to see the best way to have access to to under the shower. I'm guessing some new access points will need to be cut?

You have to cut a hatch in front of the toilet.
Alberts treads and Pietro tread have pics of it.
you will probably have to rip out a lot off wet foam

good luck

My shower drain works well, but I went ahead & cut a hatch in the floor in front of the toilet a few years back, dug out the dry foam down to the hull & exposed the shower drain. In doing so, I have created an extra storage space and am ready just in case we have any shower drain issues in the future.

Hello 390 owners...I posted a few days ago about my carpet being wet in the head. I found the leak, which was the sump hose came disconnected from the thru hole(Sp). This is looking through a hole in the cabinet wall under the sink...This little error cause a big mess as I showered with it like this for god knows how many times. I didn't know anything was amiss until the carpet was soaked one night.

This is my storage hatch in the forward berth. I pumped 20+ gallons of water out of it with a shopvac. It appears to be draining into this from the hole on the port side. (i now have this area cleaned and dry)

This is what the hole looks like. It appears to be right below the shower? It's not very deep (half inch of water) which is why most of the water drained into the berth storage. However it's tough to get to. it was a stretch to take this cell phone pic. My shop vac won't reach. Any ideas on how to clean this area or dry it out? I fear that it may have soaked a sub floor under it? I also thought I could access this from the new hole I cut in the head, but that does not appear to be the case.

This is the new hole that I cut in the head. With the carpet being as wet as it was I was expecting more water here, but to my surprise it was pretty dry. The foam toward the shower was damp with a little bit of standing water under the first layer, but the foam aft was dry. Im not sure where the water came in here from. Has to be from the middle compartment under the shower somewhere.

For those with more intimate knowledge of these boats what would you do to clean this up? Mainly the compartment in the third picture. It seems pretty tough to get to, and I don't want to rot the floor with that moisture. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. I will of course continue to remove the foam in the head, and get that piece of wood out that keeps from the shower drain...but again, the third picture is what has me stumped.

Thank you for helping.

I hate those plastic thru-hulls.... they must be bronze or stainless steel. I think you are ready to get rid of them and fit proper metal ones.

I would cut a hole from the compartment under the head sole in order to reach the shower drain. I believe water is coming from there.... Then I would remove all the foam and relocate the shower sump under the head floor, you can see it in my restoration thread.
