Official 370 Sundancer thread

I am looking for a path to route power cables from batteries in engine compartment to the amps in the salon. I found this on the forward starboard side , gray tube with a single orange wire with green stripe. does any body know where this tube comes out?

Can anyone tell me what kind of v drives you have in your 370 Sundancers with 454's? The year is a 1998. Thanks for any info in advance!!

Unfortunately, the easy part is getting from the engine room to the helm behind the Subwoofer. From there, you have to go through an opening that should be siliconed shut (to keep engine room vapors from getting to the cabin). It is not a straight shot. You'll be disassembling the closet, and finding some way to pull or push a snake along the Starboard hull, behind the settee and cabinetry. The easiest place to come out in the cabin is behind the TV cavity. When you do this, be sure to pull an extra chase line or two. I found myself back in that area pulling network, and video later on.
BE SURE to re-seal the opening behind the sub woofer, or your aft A/C will bring you all kinds of engine and bilge vapors. Not overwhelming, but certainly not desirable.

370 Dancer, you helped me before and I was wondering if you know were the Master Control for the ACR RCL 100 spot light is located. We might have to change it out because the reflector is not moving up or down. It does rotate 360 degrees. Also do you know how to get to the rope lights in the forward state room. We have been talking about replacing them with LED lights. By the way thank you very much for telling me were and how to get to the amp for the stero. Once you told me it was easy to change out.

Usually, the problem is not the controller, but the stepping motor for vertical movement of the lens. This is because the lamp doesn't get exercised up and down near as much as it does horizontally. In fact, the new controllers have a timed program that moves the lens periodically. You will have to remove the spotlight assembly and then disassemble the spotlight to get to the stepper motor. Sometimes, you can just lube it up, and exercise it to get it back to operation.
The job is not for the easily frustrated. Lots of parts, and leaves a hole in your deck until you are done.

Thanks, we will give it a try. What type of lube would you use? I do like what you said about the new controller ("the new controllers have a timed program that moves the lens periodically"). If we do deside to change it out with the new one, were is it located. But first we will take it apart and try lubing it.
Will let you know how we make out.

I sent this to spectrum to a gel coat patch kit

from Sea Ray "The Sea Ray # at the time was 677732, and the manufacturer was Valspar, their # GG15047."

Spectrum said the could not cross reference these numbers
has any one ordered a gel coat kit if so which one did you order?

Did the color match?

thank you

I think I found it the color is sea ray lilly artic white 96-04
spectrum item number f55149k

The controller is behind the dash panel. small black aluminum box with a pile of wires coming out of it. Probably mmounted near the terminal strip behind the main dash where your depth, autopilot, etc is located.

Steve6307 I sent you a PM regarding winterization checklist that i developed. I would be more than happy to send it it to you if you give me an email. (i do not know if it is possible to attach a file to a PM?)

GyroSpyro - Faucet looks great. I do not care for the original faucet that is there. You can barely get your hands under it, and the water just barely "reaches" the sink. How far out over the sink does this new faucet extend?

New Question- Beneath the driver's seat (access from the aft side of the driver side bench seat) is a small compartment where the heater defroster is located. In this compartment, coming out of the starboard side wire chase (area between interior of boat and exterior of boat where wires and hoses are run) are 3 wires that have been cut (one is red, one is white, one is black, all are about 16 guage). They are cut clean with a wire cutter. Anyone know what they are or were for?

The only electrical stuff in the immediate vicinity are the power actuator for the driver seat and the cockpit heater/defroster. Both work fine. I am guessing it is one of the following:

1. Wiring for some option that i do not have?
2. Wiring went bad for power seat or heater /defroster and someone ran new wiring and left the old ones there.
3. The heater defroster maybe used to have a solenoid valve in line that opened when the unit was turned it, and someone removed the valve.

Anyone have any ideas?

NOTE - I have not put a multimeter on the wires, but i probably should to see if they are hot.

Thanks for any help.

I recently purchased a 1997 370
My wife and I fell in love wth it.
When I had it surveyed the surveyor found a very slight amount of moisture around 2 of the bow deck hatches.
Has anyone ever removed one and rebedded it?
Will it seperate the fiberglass when I try to remove it?
Any insight on this would be appreciated. as I intend to repair these while it is laid-up for the long michigan winter.
Thanks

I installed this faucet a couple of years ago. It works really well with the size of the sink. Original faucet was worthless.

So I took a ride the other day to check on my boat like all good Sea Ray owners do and I noticed something strange on my exterior walk around inspection. On the port side of the boat there are three thru hull fittings grouped together on the side of the boat. There're about in the middle of the boat directly below where the shore power connections are and about 12" above the boot stripe. I think the one in the center is the shower discharge but I don't remember what the other two are. The problem is the one that's furtherest aft was clogged with slush. I tried to dig it out but it goes in pretty deep. It seems as though a small amount of water is coming out of this fitting and freezing up and I need to figure out why. Does anyone know what this is connected to? I was thinking about it on the way home and was wondering if it was connected to the bilge pump in the storage compartment in the floor where the shower sump is. Still can't image where the water could be coming from but I need to get back down there to solve this problem. If anyone knows what this thru hull is for I'd appreciate some help. Thanks, Mark
