Official 350SLX I/O and OB Thread

Side note - are you sure about your fridge? Mine is dual voltage and works on AC when plugged into shore power.

Irrelevant in the context of the inverter question, but nonetheless thought you might find it interesting.

I will check soon. The fridge needs to be replaced so I will be pulling it out soon so I know which model to order.

Good question. Not sure! The grill is and the refrigerator is not (12volt). The grill plugs into an outlet under the grill that is wired to the inverter.
Joel, I have a 2016 350 SLX with grill and fridge and am trying to locate the inverter. Is it under the grill in your boat?

Not sure of the location of the inverter itself. However, there is a 110 outlet wired to the inverter under your grill. You need to remove the grill cover and then the four screws holding the grill in. The grill lifts out with a little wriggling. There is a drain hose attached to the bottom of the grill. Reach under and slide it off in order to lift the grill out. The grill has a GFI built into the cord that plugs into the 110 outlet. There is another outlet available. I used that to add an external 110 always on (whenever the grill power is switched on at the panel).

@dukedrummer since you have had three 350SLX’s, have you ever covered the bow with a shade? I have the little umbrella thing but you know how effective that is. I’d love to get a shade that snaps onto the front of the hardtop and connects to 2 poles at the bow. I think newer 350’s had this as an option but not the 2014. Any ideas? I have the shure shade in back, it is awesome.

I have this on my new 320 and its great and I can run at speed with it attached! Should be as easy as going to a Sea Ray dealer and have them order the 2 bow pole receivers (shouldn't be hard to install with a little drilling), small generic hoops for hardtop, poles, and sunshade from the new 350's or have a canvas guy do same setup for likely less money (several marine canvas/shade companies in Florida make a similar setup)

That sounds great. I will definitely check into the bow sunshade options next time I am at Marinemax.

Anyone know where the stereo amplifier is located in the 350SLX?

So I took possession of a beautiful 2017 SeaRay 350 SLX and decided to go out for a ride with the family. Unfortunately, I started it up and one of the screens would not boot up. I had to do factory resets on both screens to get everything to boot up normally. So now the Raymarine Axiom 9 screens work great, but I don't have any of the Sea Ray specific controls for the boat like the lights, sun shades, etc. Does anyone know what I need to do to get those back?

I do not.

Hey guys, I have another newbie question. On the SLX I have the 8.2L engines and in the back I have what appears to be 2 engine flush ports. My question is how do I use them? Engine on or off? What is the proper sequence of water flow and engine running/stopping? I will need to flush the motors since I come out of salt water to a dry dock.

My flush connections have a special piece that I put on the end of my hose. This piece allows me to have the water pressure on but the piece stops the flow of water until it is connected. With engines off I connect the hose to the flush connection which starts the flow of water. I start that engine and let it run 5-10 minutes. I stop engine and disconnect the hose. Repeat for other engine.

Do you know how to remove that panel? Above the two doors that house the breakers is just a part of the cabin wall. Does that remove? The stereo, light switch and co2 detector are on that wall above the two doors.

Hi, newbie here. I'm in the process of purchasing a 2015 350 SLX and thinking of an electronics overhaul as soon as I take possession.

I'm thinking of an Axiom 12 in place of the original a95 and then replacing the smart gauges with two Axiom 7s. And then an NMEA 2000 stereo, probably the Fusion. The idea being that one Axiom does the missing gauges (which are all on VesselView as well?), one as the plotter and the other for the stereo and existing radar. So a couple of questions -
  • Will a 12" Axiom fit on the dash? The 2016 boat had a 12" chartplotter as an upgrade option, so I'm guessing so.
  • Am I going to miss anything by removing the smart gauges. My assumption is that everything can be presented on the MFDs.
  • How hard is it to route a cable from the cabin stereo to the transom remote? I'm thinking with wifi and phone based remotes I can abandon the transom remote if its too hard.
Any other gotchas I should think about?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard CSR.

Thank you!

I had thought of that to replace the Fosgate remote on the dash (somehow plugging the larger hole) but I hadn't thought about that for the transom. Brilliant. And can be better positioned than the companionway where the stock remote is.

Thanks to the parts manuals and the pointer to them from jtm84259 in topic #15 above I was able to do some detecting - The non digital dash part for the 2016 boat and the 2015 is the same part, so no change in size. The 2016 boat had a E125 as the 12" option. Raymarine has the E125 as 13.93" x 8.74" and the Axiom+ 12 as 12.36" x 8.54". So it will fit :)

I can't recommend those parts manuals highly enough - Most of the 'where is the x located' questions above and any not yet asked can be answered from the parts diagrams.

21 is the STEREO, AMP ROCKFORD FOSGATE 600W/5 R600X5
CabinComponentBoard.png

It looks like the 2016 (and possibly later) boat has an access panel

The 2015 (and possibly earlier) does not.

BUT 28 is listed as PANELS,ALL STBD STRG BERTH AFT WALL

Three arrows and panels as plural. I would suggest they come off separately, but how I cant help with
