Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Todd,
You are right again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was not in favor of this place, but it was my wife's choice to go there, they were low bid.

Their workmanship has been fine as far as I can tell, but their professionalism, communication, and timeliness has been horrible. We will have to see how it holds up.

Has any one put the Garmin or Lowrance fuel flow sensors? if so what are your thoughts about either. Thanks

I had the Lowrance one on my last boat. It worked well for the single engine and allowed me to monitor fuel usage on the screen in a variety of display modes. 12.5 gallons per hour at full cruise speed. Not exactly that rate with the 330.

Looking at the boat for sale sights for the 330DA '90-'94, I noticed that quite a few of the boats for sale have water stains on their headliners.
Is there a known issue that I am unaware of that hasn't happened "yet" with my 330?
I re-bedded my stanchions and other deck fittings but this looks like a windshield or hatches leaking.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, an ounce or prevention... you know.

Munko,
Yes, Searay had/has a problem with leaks coming from windshied base on those models. I looked at quite a few when trying to buy my 330. A lot of the boats had a spongy deck just in front of the windshield. I talked with the Searay Service manager at the local Searay dealership here and he told me that Searay knew about the problem and even had repaired a number of boats years ago under warranty. I guess they decided o save some money on sealant in the screw holes. So my advice is the have a qualified surveyor check for mositure in this area. Or you can investigate yourself by walking gently in this area and see if it feels spongy. Do your self a favor and reseat/Caulk the windshield mount holes. You can buy the rubber that goes in the windshield from Flounder Pounder, Taylormade part # 8349030. It took me quite a few boats till I found the "Perfect" 330. We bought a 1996 and just love it. It is a great boat for family cruising etc. Good luck and Happy Boating !

Anyone ever remove their carpet an put in wood laminate for the floor? It would be great to see any pics... I have a 1998 and I am considering tearing out the carpet and doing this.

I've never done it, but my boat has real hardwood instead of laminate. When I looked under the subfloor, they used brad nails to hold it down

Looking at a '99 330. Has been kept under cover it's entire life. Canvas is in need of replacement. For those of you who have replaced, what was the cost. Asking as I would like to incorporate the cost into my offer (pending a survey as well). Thanks.

Call Great Lakes Boat top, tell the year/make/model of the searay and they should be able to price it out for you

I replaced all of my canvas in 2011 from Great Lakes Boattop for around $2500 or so.

You'll need the serial number of the boat and they will look it up and make an exact replacement. They will give you a quote for the replacement cost if you ask.
