Ok here's another pic of the finished cabin floor. After tearing out the carpeting and 3 steps (worst part) I made a paper template of the floor (2 pcs.) then taped them together at the middle. I took the template home then laid out the Allure flooring on my basement floor at home and put the template over it, traced it, then cut the pieces that needed to be cut. I then labled the individual pieces like a puzzle and made a diagram on paper so I could dissassemble and reassemble the flooring at the boat. I made 3 new plywood steps because I had to destroy 2 of them in the removal process. The Allure flooring is free floating per instructions except for the steps and hatch covers. I glued (contact cement) the flooring to those pieces. I used a color called Clear Cedar for the main flooring and Dark Walnut for the trim around the hatches and also the trim on the steps. By the way the template worked great. After assembling the flooring at the boat I only needed to trim 2 pieces to get the proper fit. I'm going to let the floor settle for a month or so then I plan to use plastic PVC quarter round moulding to finish the floor where it meets the carpeting. The moulding can be bent to go around the radiused corners by using a heat gun. Any questions feel free to ask.

That looks great! I can't tell in the picture but do you even need the edge molding? It looks like the carpet covers it!

We have tried the toppers before and they work pretty good. If you have a foam distributor in your area, It might be worth looking into a complete foam replacement. We went to a place called Foam Factory here in Detroit ( USA foam online ) and they cut us 5 inch high density replacements for ~ 400. about the same as some toppers I have seen.

Hopefully someone can help me out. I have a 97 330 Sundancer with twin 7.4 MPI. When I try and start either motor they act like the batteries are dead. I have two batteries parallel together. One is brand new and one is less than a year old (I had it tested and it is good around 800 ca.) I recently changed the emergency start solenoid. Not sure if I shorted something. I have pulled both main power motor wires and the main power wire for battery bank and connected them together with a bolt to element the solenoid. I checked the battery switch and checked out good. Is there any there breakers or inline fuses that would cause this. (checked the main 50a on the to motor it was not tripped. I am stumped. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Are you in gear? make sure you are in neutral, if so,maybe bad switch(s). Not likely on both at the same time, but you never know. Check for voltage at starter, check all grounds, maybe bad connections ?
If you jump the solenoid at the starter what happens? Does the motor turn over? Verify you are in neutral before you try to jump it because you are bypassing all the safeties built in to the system.

It is in neutral. The motors doing the exact same thing. Turns over real slow for about 5sec then clicks like batteries are dead. Had them checked on the boat then at batteries plus. One was bad and was good. Replaced the bad one and reinstalled. I changed out the emergency start solenoid. Could I have shorted something out. I seems as though that the batteries are not connected and it is trying to start off the battery charger

Ok fellow 330 owners. I am open to suggestions. I am wanting to take out the carpet in the galley and the 3 steps leading out. I thought about hardwood or fake teak from like seadek. I am open to any ideas. Thanks

So I have done some searching and havn't found an answer to my question. My fridge has died on me. I've been looking for a replacement but instead of buying the 120/12v marine replacement norcold I was thinking of purchasing a standard 120 apartment size fridge and just running the gen when we are out ( our trips out are not that extended so the 12v portion doesnt concern me) Has anyone tried this and have a model of fridge to use or have any suggestions? Or is this a terrible idea and I should just spend the money on the marine one?

I think the biggest problem that you will encounter in using an apt fridge is that, while certainly being cheaper, it will not have a mounting flange on the front. How do you plan on keeping the fridge stable and not bouncing around? I guess that you could try some sort of strapping or a bungee cord but that would probably not be very aesthetically pleasing.

I just finished my flooring project in my 97'. I used Allure Ultra vinyl plank flooring from Home depot. Check out my "Allure flooring project" thread in the "Modifications" category. If you give me an email address I can send pics of the floor. I can't post them here due to my size limitation on this website.

Finally have my boat on the lift/pier and learning by fire. One thing I noticed is that the main fuse panel in the salon the green main breaker light is flickering sorta on and off. Anyone else experience this? If so, is it something to be concerned about? thanks.

More info..... maybe I'm not seeing any voltage because one of the starting engine batteries is completely dead?

..... sorry to keep posting but I don't want anyone providing help if I don't need it and someone else does. I found a fuse popped on my pier and now I'm seeing volts on my inverter. Yay.

Re: Windshield screw cover

I know this is an old issue, but I will post it anyway to save others the same foolishness. I had the original Sea Ray shrunken foam screw cover gasket on my boat and over the recent years tried to go a "cheap" route rather than ordering the new version from Taylormade.

- I tried an alternative vendor of vinyl (suggested by someone on CSR), but it didn't fit.

- Last year I bought some insulating foam tubes (those black foam tubes you get at Home Depot to insulate copper water pipes) and split them in half, then stuffed them in the space. That looked pretty good at first, but over last summer they slowly shrunk in length until they didn't fit. They also faded to gray fairly quickly (strike 2).

This spring I called Taylormade, ordered the right thing over the phone. 7 days later it arrives, it fits, looks right, seals it up properly. Another example of a lesson that is taking me a while to learn: Do it right the first time and do it once. Why I would try to save $50 when the tanks of fuel cost over $1,000 is beyond me (its the accountant in me I guess!).

Did you just tell them what make/model/year of your boat and they took care of it for ya? Thanks!
