Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Hello to all from Grapevine, Tx.

I will not be winterizing this year. But if it helps, I will be installing a new starboard v-drive in the next few weeks. Previous owner did not maintain, and now i'm out the $$$. :smt089 Oh well....

You can definitely remove it. Swimplatforms.com makes a platform that goes over the top of the upper platform so it is all one level. I am probably going to go that route with my 330 next year. I do wish their platform was all square instead of tapering at the rear, so you get the entire width of the boat, but it's the best option we have. There are also smaller companies that will build custom platforms like this as well.

I leave our rods up in the V-Berth along the side on the small ledge.

Owners of 97-99 330 Dancers; Have any of you had to remove the swim platform? Can it be removed and has anyone removed it and not replaced it? (Only using the integrated platform.)

We had a storm come through last season and tore up some of the boats on the dock. A friend of mine has a 95 330DA and the swim platform you are referring to was torn up badly.

We removed it in the water. It took 3 of us and some banged up fingers but it came off. The insurance sent it out to be repaired and then reinstalled.

The bolts through the hull can be difficult to get. Some are in the recess of the integrated platform. But it is quite doable.

The platform is a adhered to the boat with strong sealant/adhesive. We had to repair some of the gel coat on around the bolt holes.

Hope this helps.

any chance they can fit in the floor hatches???

One piece rods won't for sure but 2 piece would. I too store smaller rods on the shelf by the forward berth. I also installed a 3 rod holder on the back wall of the rear transom storage. It holds 3 two piece trolling rods and does not take up much space. I also replaced the plastic slam latches with stainless locking ones to keep the rods locked up.

Its great when you roll over and slam your forearm into a hook.

The 2 floor hatches have a bulkhead between them .The front compartment is 5 feet deep, the rear contains the shower sump which is about 20 inches from the bulkhead.Yes, a hook in the arm at 2 am makes for a surprise awakening. I remedied this by drilling three 2 1/2 holes thru the top of the mentioned bulk head, problem solved.Congratulations on your purchase.

Thanks Pete

went out today.
So here is my list of repairs.
Noticed oil leaking from steering at helm. How do u get access
the guides or something is broke on swim ladder. I have to zip tie it or it will slide out.
I have one broken cabinet lock. Where can I find a new one? It's stuck shut. Thinking run a screw in the middle of it so I can pull it out

thanks

Saverio

On the lower left of the helm is a circuit breaker panel. If you remove the screws from it, you will be able to gain access to the back of the dash.

Not sure what to tell you on the swim ladder, you'll have to engineer something.

Try pounding on the lock button, sometimes it might come undone. Before drilling the latch, I would remove one of the working latches and disassemble it determine the best way to bypass the stuck lock. I bought a few replacement cabinet latches from flounderpoundermaine.com

If somebody else doesn't come through, I'll try to take a picture of my swim ladder next weekend, which sadly will be the last of the season.

I am being hauled out for winter tomorrow morning so I will take a picture and post it.

thanks guys

after that the only major issue is the generator. there was oil in the tray. they started and ran it for the survey and they shut it down right away has a bad knock such a shame only 143 hours on it. hoping I can just buy the motor. anyone know the size or hp????

Mine is a Westerbeke 4.5 BCG but apparently 1997 was a transition year and they used a couple generators.
