Official 330/350 (2008 and newer) Thread

Hi Art,

Sorry to jump in here - as I am not a 330/350 owner, but I think our boats have similar hulls - at least the '08 350's do.

I just replaced my vent fan motor - it has a "Y" duct adapter on it and duct work that leads to the head and galley. There are 3 way switches in the galley and head to turn the motor ON and OFF. The motor is a Mayfair 5412, flange mount, and it is mounted against the hull on the port side mid-ship. On my boat, I have two "clamshells" on the hull there - the aft one is the central vac vent, the forward one is the vent fan "vent" (you can look at my sig picture and see the two clam shells just above the Sea Ray emblem). The vent fan motor is accessed via the port side cabinet at the foot of the couch/bed in the mid (aft) cabin, there is a window in the cabinet that allows viewing of the battery charger. If you unscrew the cabinet shelving and back wall, you can see the vent fan motor about 3' forward and 3' above the battery charger. Wasn't fun for an old guy to change, but with Aleve pre-treatment and tequila post-treatment, I survivded!!!

Sounds like you may have a switch problem rather than a fan motor problem...

Thanks Carter - That is great detail, and I think you are right: if only 1 motor, and the motor is working, it probably is a switch problem -

If anybody needs a 2008 330 parts manual I have it on PDF format. Sea Ray sent me the file since it is not on their site. PM me with your email and I can send it to you.

Enlarge that, and put it in a nice frame for your home - that is an awesome pic, you are lucky to have it!!!!!

Happy New Year, everyone!!! I hope you are all well... I have a question: I'm thinking of putting 4 fenders up on the bow rail - 2 on each side, to make room in the cockpit/under seat storage, while underway, and to make it easier to retrieve the fenders when readying for landing at the dock. Has anyone put fender baskets on your boat? A buddy of mine has tried a couple different varieties, but hasn't been happy with either, so I'm hoping someone here has already found one that works well. Thanks!

I wanted to do the same thing this last fall and settled on the Windline FND-2 fender holders (www.windline.com). These are entirely stainless steel (except a couple small rubber pieces) and mount nicely to the vertical of the bow rail. They also foldup if you want to get them out of the way and hold the Polyform G5 twin eye fenders (8.5" x 27") nicely. Since I was concerned about the holders blocking visibility from the helm, I chose to mount them on just aft of the port and starboard navigation lights. The result has been good visibility and easy access to the fenders without taking up cockpit storage. I'll admit that the lines of the boat are cleaner without the holders, but with white fenders they don't stand out as much.
Hope this helps- LT

Any post-install photos?

I posted a pic of my boat "Bula" as taken from a Boatpix.com helicopter a couple of links above. It has a shot of my 2009 330 Sundancer with a set of Polyform True fit fender holders on the bow rail each holding a single black fender each. They are unobtrusive and aesthetically ok. They have been durable as well.

Thanks, Tom - sounds great. One question - I like where you placed them, as that seems like the best place - just 1 ?: does the placement impede the walkway along the side of the boat, near the windshield, as you approach the bow? Thanks again for your response.

They don't block the walkway since are a little forward of the windshield. When I get a chance I'll post a picture or two.

The boat came to me with a speaker pod holding 2 forward facings speakers. I assume the PO had them installed.

Thanks. It is still the original eisenlass. Not sure how the PO maintained it but it is now in a covered slip. We just had a camper enclosure made and are hoping that stays just as nice with just a few months of use per year.

I'm sure the covered slip is of great benefit keeping the glass clear. I think you'll like the camper enclosure a lot - as you know, it gets a little cramped back there, with all the canvas up. I'd love to see pics, once you have it installed.

Here are some pictures of the speaker pods. Not sure where the PO got them.

A local canvas shop finished the camper enclosure last fall. It really opens up the cockpit and gives quite a bit of shade- well appreciated on Georgia summer afternoons. They were able to resuse the existing bow from the radar arch by drilling another set of adjustment holes in the rod itself. If we ever wanted to we could put the old canvas back on the boat.
Here are some pictures:

Tom, regarding the front speakers, that's a professional install- I like the view from behind with that cover. Functional and clean.
