New to us 320 DA here! Yay!

Regs here in Canada require us to carry a 24" life buoy with 50' line aboard. Where to people put these? Its seems too large to hang from the bow rail and barely fits in the transom locker making it difficlt to get anything else in or out...any suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

Nice boat. We have only had ours since Aug of last year but love it. We hang ours from the bow rail on the port side. It doesn't interfere with vision at all and it doesn't look that bad. You can get a small 50' line and bag package to hang with it.
You can even have your boat name put on the life ring if you wish to add a little character. I've included a pic to show how it looks on our boat. Where are you located?

Has anyone here purchased a new mattress for the v berth in the 320 sundancer? I added some memory foam but it is not working. I would like to replace cushions and memory foam with a new mattress, hopefully this will cure my aching back.:smt089

I had a custom made innerspring for the 330. The 330 is a 4 piece, I had it made as 2 piece, (I wouldn't have fitted a 1 piece through the door)

The 2 pieces have a zipper to join them, then a mattress topper that has sides and elastic, same material. So it all links together.

You can't feel the join at all. I think it is actually better than our bed at home. Both my wife and I have back issues, so it was one of those must do's.

I found a mattress factory that makes custom mattresses, and took the original 4 cushion sections with me.

Dash repair help

Have the tan dash with a very minor crack (cosmetic). Anyone know of caulk or similar that will match color that I can use?
Thanks!

You've probably solved this by now, but Sea Ray gave me the following color code for my tan dash of the same year as yours: 1514991 GEL COAT, MAXGUARD ZEPHYR (DASH)

You can order a $26 patch kit of this matching color from Spectrum Color.

I haven't yet, so this is very helpful. Thanks!

Hi Bill
Thanks the image of your fine boat. We are in North Bay (Lake Nipissing/French River) and loving the new (to us) boat. Do you attach the ring at the bottom at all? If not does it bang about on the fiberglass?

Thanks again,

Paul

Hey Paul
No I don't attach it at the bottom. It doesn't really move that much if you tighten up the metal hook it sits in and the strap around it to hold in the hook.

Flickering cockpit lights! Let me start out by saying I have a 2003 320 Sundancer. I am having an issue where my cockpit lights keep turning on and off. Sometimes they just turn on and sometimes they turn on and off like a crazy person has taken over!

Things I have tried and noticed. Under the helm there is a cable that comes down from the switches that plugs into a little circuit board. If I unplug the cable from the switch panel to the circuit board it still happens. If I unplug all 3 plugs that go into the board it fixes the issues.

I am guessing that circuit board needs to be replaced but I was hoping there was some way of testing it or knowing that is the issue before I have to specially order something from sea ray.

Any help or guidance would be great.
Thanks
James

Any photos of the setup.

I mounted a standard stainless steel rod holder on the grab bar handle for the transom locker. When I want to grill, I take out my kettle grill from the port side storage underseat and stick it in the rod holder. Its worked great for me for the last couple years, I stand mostly on the swim step when I grill and it doesn't interfere with my guests seating arrangements or put much smoke into the cockpit. I don't prefer to permanently mount the grill so I take it off, wash it out and put it back in storage when I am done with it. Just another idea.

Hey Scuma, your timing is perfect. I just did a whole lighting survey on the weekend. I converted my previous boat, a 370 aft cabin to all LED's an it looks awesome, so just starting to do it with my 320. So here's what you need;
42mm Festoon LED's for Swim platform x 1, Cockpit lower lights x 3, Radar Arch x 2, Transom Locker x 1, total 7 of these. Pics attached.
G4 pin type Lamps. Reading spot lights x 3, Bathroom x 2, Main salon x 2. total 7 of these.
Wedge style LED lamps, salon floor level lighting x 2 of these in total.
You can pick these up from Amazon for $3.99 each, stay away from places like West Marine, or your local marina, you end up paying $19 each. Ouch.
I also got 2 x ball style spot lights in the salon, which i've not figured out how to dismantle yet, but watch this space. That should get you going, and they look incredible.

I managed two replace all LEDs fairly easily except for two....The two ceiling lights right in front of the starboard windows. Is there a specific way to change those out? They don't see to twist or pop off like the others. I'm not sure if I have to unscrew that entire panel to get to them but figured I'd ask before doing so. Thanks

Scuma, they actually pry out, with a screwdriver but they're very tight. And they bend easily, i had to 're-shape' them when i was done. And be careful not to damage the surrounding head cloth.

the G4 lamp work good in those fittings.

Did you ever get the cover off for this light? My bulb has burnt out too, and I have tried twisting it off by hand with no luck. Just want to see if you found the trick to get this cover off the adjusted/directed- nickel finish light?

Ive seen the speed/mpg consensus on vdrive/350s combo pretty much unanimous at ~23mph and ~1mpg, give or take.

Can anyone with vdrive 6.2mpi combo chime in and let me know what kind of difference it makes? Does the factory SeaRay setup allow those 6.2's to get up into the higher rpms it likes to work at without stressing the motor?

I had 6.2s on my old 320 but according to your info you have a smaller boat so why are you asking for that info here on the 320 thread?
