Official 320 Dancer Thread

Looking for some advice on the best design for a camper canvas on my 2003 320. Mainly wondering whether the sides should snap to the original snap location or move inside so the walkway is on the outside?

I wouldn't snap to the inside or rain will pour into your cockpit as it runs down the side panel of your camper canvas. I have a 2003 also and I had my canvas guy extend the forward top all the way to the front of the windshield (Top rail of the windshield) and drop it straight down from there. The back portion I had him go as high as posible while still allowing the water to drain off and put in as much ventilation as possible. It worked out great. Up front I can drive in the shade and out back I have plenty of wind blowing through.

Wow, I checked the on-line price, I think will stay with my 800 thread count sheets and make them fit for a lot less.

I bought the 300 thread count for $199. They are better than the 600 thread count sheets I use at home.

Would you mind sharing some pictures?

Hey Alex,

sorry to hear about your troubles.. Any updates? How about the cool fuel filters? Do your engines have those?

Good luck..

Barry

Quick question on tv's...mine is set up on the 12 volt system, but the antenna does not work unless the generator is on...so in other words, the tv comes on, but I don't get a signal unless the generator is running. Is this how is should be set up or do I need to have it rewired? Thanks.

Clarification - What about if you are on shore power? The Glomex antenna system should not require AC, I don't think. I wonder if you have a DC system that is not receiving battery power, but somehow the battery charger is powering it. See if it works with the genny on and AC converter off.

yes, it works fine on shore power. Before I bought the boat, I had the tv's replaced so they would receive the digital signal and had a HD receiver installed as well. I think something was switched at that time and needs to be corrected.

It sounds like you HD reciever is 120v (not 12v), thus when you shut off 120v you're loosing the reciever's functionality while your TV is wired for 12v. Double check that TV and HD receiver are 12v units. As John mentioned, Glomex uses 12v and genny or shore isn't required to power it.

I am installing a tv in the cockpit next week so I'll have the installer check it out. I do have the glomex, so I think it is just hooked up incorrectly. I'll update once everything is complete.

Your TV's are set up on the 12V system. What does that mean? Do you have an inverter to power AC TV's from the batteries? Most TV's are AC, but there are some DC ones. I only know of 1 DC HDTV - Jensen.

Any way, I bet Alex is right. Your HDTV tuner is probably 120v. It either needs to be added to the inverter power, or, replaced with a DC model.

Miller,

Can I ask you for a small favor. I did the install of the cockpit TV myself, but I didn't have chance to finish connecting the cable wire, which I found in the engine room (this was pre-wired). That cable didn't give me any signal. So, I was wandering if your installer will use the same wire (instead of running new one from the cabin, which is a PITA) can you find out how is he going to connect it or at least where is the second end of that cable is connected to?

Good luck with your installation.

Thanks,
Alex.

I concur with Alex your TV on the boat is wired for both AC and DC. However, There are no flat Screen LCD's under 19" that are wired for DC. I do not know any HD recievers that are DC. I converted my analog TV on my 320 and used an inverter for DC. So now my Flat Screen w/built in DVD player runs on either AC or DC. It works great. Inverters are relatively inexpensive, just make sure the one you get handles the load of the TV and HD reciever that you have. Also make sure it has the built in filter so when you run on DC you do not get the lines on your TV. Good luck.

Alex,
I'll keep you posted. I just got the bracket delivered today so it'll be next Tuesday or so before I can get on my installers schedule. As for the DC, I think you can pick up an inverter at Lowes for $50 or so to set it up. Thanks for the advice and I hope to have it all sorted out before kick off next Thursday!!!!

320 Squeaky Steering Wheel

My steering wheel on my 2005 320DA is starting to squeak. I peeked through the console door below the column and I can't see how you can lubricate it. Can someone help?
