Official 320 Dancer Thread

Just wanted to share a little update to the v-berth area - specifically those stupid horizontal cupboards that don't stay open. I picked up some gas struts from Amazon for about $15 (CDN) and installed them. They were pretty straightforward to put in, the ones towards the bow I needed to add a small (1" +/-) block behind them, the ones in the aft screwed right in. Now the cupboards stay open on their own and The Admiral is very happy.

These are the struts I got - they are way overkill for these small cupboards, but they did the trick:

I recently had a small victory of sorts that I wanted to share with everyone. The galley fridge on our 2005 320 DA was not working on AC (worked fine on DC). After the usual checks of the circuit breaker and the GFCI I pulled the fridge out. I found the AC power went into a small box on the top of the fridge, and I saw the DC power went into a separate small box. I also noted that there was a small connection from the AC box to the DC box. Process of elimination led me to suspect the AC box was the culprit, so I pulled it out (after unplugging and turning of circuit breakers of course). I saw there was what appeared to be a small fuse on the circuit board within, so I hoped this would be the simple fix (I tested it and it had no continuity). I took the AC circuit board to a local electronics repair shop. The tech first tried to replace the fuse, but it blew again. He told me he wanted to try to order some parts in to fix it - if it works he'd charge $130 if it didn't work there would be no charge. Sounded like a fair deal to me since a new replacement board would be about $400, but they were no longer available from the manufacturer so I wasn't even sure I could find one. Anyways, a couple of days later he tells me it is fixed. I reinstall it onto the fridge and voila - our fridge is now working properly on AC and DC - drinks will always be cold!!

For the record (in case anyone is searching) the fridge is a Norcold model DE0051. The AC power supply is Norcold part number 169000500

Hmm....I might be dreaming but I thought mine had the struts? Anyone else chime in, or am I mistaken?

Geez you guys must’ve got the upgraded model! :) I wonder if they forgot to put them on mine when it was built or maybe the P.O. on your boat had added them in?

I am pretty sure I have them As soon as this snow stops and I put them boat in Mid May it's the first thing I check!

Has anyone changed out a power vent fan on a (2006) 320? After a bit of searching I have located the unit but it appears to be fastened thru the hull with screws that hidden behind the outside vent. How is the vent attached? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

How/where do you folks store your sunpad? I'm looking for some ideas as it is a bulky thing to keep down in the cabin. We usually just throw it in the aft cabin area, but it gets in the way.

Good morning, i had to remove my salon pull out couch to get a vinyl repair done and barely slid it past the steps to get it off the tracks. I went to put it back on and I had planned to remove that one step in the way to make it easier. I removed the 3 or 4 large screws and though it would come off but it didnt and didnt seem loose even. is there more to it?
BTW I have a good vinyl repair guy if anyone needs.

FYI, I was able to order this colour today in a paste repair kit directly from Spectrum. Seems to be in stock.
Thank you, sorry for late response

I leave mine attached on the foredeck or in the basement.

Anyone, I've read that they may be glued as well as screwed to the metal support pole. If that the case, is force required?

Just a thought, but what would be involved in unbolting the entire pole instead of just the tread?

I changed my stair treads to teak and once i pulled the four bolts on each tread they came right off, no glue. Getting access to the top of that support pole would be a bear I bet.

Thanks Shenaningans, i thought the same thing about that pole and the carpet and vinyl at the top. I guess I will try again with a little more force. Its just one that needs to be moved. I just want to be able to get it back on in the end

Mine were glued on as well. Also, there was a piece of plywood between the step and the metal step platform. That split in a hundred pieces when prying off the steps.

You are spot on Mike, I just got the one off and have the same scenario. I salvaged, needed or not the plywood. I just removed the staples and put the step back on top. I did notice the metal support pole is a little loose, it kind of tilts left and right walking down. I may have to remove the bottom cover of that mount and see whats up. the upper is in the head liner of aft birth:(

the longer you wait the worse it's gonna get and may become a huge project if it breaks away. Both the top and bottom should be accessed and tightened ASAP.
