Official 320 Dancer Thread

Checked out a 320 this AM, love the layout and how it still doesn't seem dated to me. Slightly concerned bringing 8 people with us, is the seating too crowded? For comparison we currently have a 270 SunDeck and can fit a ton of people on board and the 496 doesn't even notice. Downside....limited shade, no AC, no cabin, no overnighting, and with it being SO hot lately the wife and kids don't even want to goto the boat! Cabin with AC would help immensely.

We have had 8 people several times. Mine takes longer to get on plane, but it does. Maybe a bit crowded going somewhere with 10-12, but once we are there, everyone hangs out in the water, on swim platform, in cockpit, or on the bow, and it easily handles 4 on bow, 6 in cockpit, 3-4 on swim, and infinity in the water, so, just get somewhere. If you run the AC, the generator exhaust fumes can be annoying/nauseating depending on wind direction, so take that into consideration. We ran our generator for our entire 5 hour trip the other day and quite enjoyed being able to go downstairs and cool off on the hot trip back.

Anybody had a problem with their cockpit fridge door latch being stuck. The latch on top of the door moves freely, but the door won't budge. it's a Norcold fridge circa 2015. Searched the forums and Google with no results. The fridge works fine, just can't open it.
I did, if I pulled real hard, it would open, eventually the catch broke. I reversed the catch so it would lock again, but then that side broke. Then, it worked great, but the door would fly open if you had a coke or anything in the fridge door when you accelerated. So, then we started putting a cooler in front, then a piece of tape. Then the knob broke, and we replaced it under warranty...

Just had Flexiteek decking installed. Carpet really isn’t a viable option here in the UK. It feels really nice to walk on and really has transformed the look of the boat. Now to clean the seats.

I'll try pulling hard later today. If that doesn't work I'm just going to pry it open. If it breaks no loss, I can't use it like it is now anyway.

I'm between Flexiteek and Plasdeck. Plasdeck just came out w/ a eco line it seems w/ same warranty and they just re-use cut off's for the bottom so a few patterns aren't made because of that but for 1/2 the price i may consider. The only thing I saw in Flexiteek is the grain of the fake teak looks more real. Pictures above look great.

Purchased our 1st boat yesterday, 2004 Sundancer 320. Excited to float from CT down to southern NJ on thur/friday with it (and my hired captain).

Is there anything I should pick up this week that is a must have on maiden voyage?

I already have life jackets, flares, throw-able, and all ropes, fenders and shore power cord and adapter for 115v if needed. The boat surveyed/sea trailed before purchase and hauled out yesterday for new bottom paint application. New Garmin 942sx/Radar/transducer combo getting installed today as well as new OEM risers/manifolds/spacer kit.

Besides the obvious (toilet paper), what else would you have on board besides extra fluids at this point (will try and get prop and belts before we depart as well).

Thanks for your advise in advance.

Sea Tow or Boat US membership. Make sure horn, navigation lights, fire extinguisher(s) & bilge pumps work. Working VHS radio & floating handheld backup VHF with MMSI registered. At least one, preferably two good anchors with plenty of rode for both.

All I have a 2003 320 Sundancer and I need Sea Ray part#1685702 ACTUATOR, ELEC HATCH LIFT 18"12V INLINE 1 has anyone replaced theirs and where do I find these? I thank you for your assistance.

You know this, but sea trial the boat loaded like you intend to use it - note fuel and water level as well as number of people - you are going to notice a huge difference from your current boat. You are correct though, the trade off is worth it

You didn't say what engine (s) it has. There was a 6.2 option as well.
Oh and by the way...you won't be sorry...

I moved up for the reasons you list from a 26' Grady Center Console with bow seating and similar to your Sundeck could fit a ton of people and all though our 360DA is a little larger the the 320DA you're looking at the the seating capacity does not much with the extra size. As Todd said once you get to where your going you have plenty of room and having the options to get out of the sun along with the cabin makes hanging out at anchor much more enjoyable.

Anyone else have unequal fuel burn, seems like my port side burns A decent amount more fuel, this is strictly run time without using generator. Any advice is appreciated.

Also has anyone put JL torpedo speakers on their arch if you please PM me or reply with pictures and did you use separate amp I’d what did you do for them ? Thanks

Mine has always been the same. I chalk it up to the gearing for the counter rotation. Last fill up port took 62 gallons starboard 57. I did have a couple hours on the generator.

My 2 engines do seem to use different amounts of fuel(according to the gauges) . I rarely use the generator. I do find that at fill up time they are taking about the same amount of fuel....so I think it might just be the gas gauges....

I just went thru a total install on a sound system. You should be running a 5 channel amp. The speakers should be on their own channel. The sub should be on it's own channel. I assume you already upgraded the amp? The SR one I replaced was about the size of a pack of smokes and not much power.
