I boat in the great south bay on Long Island NY. I can get into some pretty short water with my present 260 I/O.
V drives have me a little concerned that I can't go to some of my normal spots.
Although I've read that the v drives is comparable to I/O's trimmed up. Not sure thats true though.

The topside layout (w/ the portside seat) is EXACTLY why I zero'ed in on the 320, too. As for the I/O's vs. inboards, with inboards there are a lot less components hanging in the water full-time. That means less subject to harsh conditions. I won't go so far as to say lesser maintenance, but... OK, yes, I will. Less maintenance. Plus, with inboards, the location of the props is under the aft 1/3 of the boat. With I/O's the props are further back. So an inboard 320 will be a lot easier to pivot in tight conditions (like docking).

Went from a 260 to a 320. Owned the 320 since 2007. Love it. Love the V Drives.

We love our 320, we boat the Long Island sound and the waters around Huntington. Vdrives are a lot less maintenance than I/o's If you are boating on the south shore I can respect the interest in I/o's with the shallow water and all. We want to upgrade soon, but haven't "officially" made the decision in my mind.

Yes, for the same reason (port side seat) is why we are drawn to the 320

OK, so the 260 is up for sale and I have an offer in on a 320.

Does anyone know the model number of the Vacuflush toilet that was installed on the 320 in 2004? I need to order some parts and am trying to save myself a trip to the boat! Thanks!

Congratulations on the 320. We have had ours for 11 seasons, really very happy with it. Keeping up with maintenance is the key to a great boat. Ours has been good to us. Really would change very little with our 320.

Quick question on the rpm vs mph.
This is my first v drive inboard twin motor boat.
To get max mph out of my rpm, is it all trim tabs?

We absolutely loved our 320. Awesome boat! If we didn't have growing kids we'd still have it no question. You'll love it and we also chose the 320 over the 340 because of the port side lounger.

Time to change your boat info

    Congrats

Question, my wife and I are looking at a used 320. The issue is the boat had a leak around the gimble bearing and ended up with 3" of water in the cabin. Repairs were done professionally and the price reflects the fact it's going to be more difficult to sell. The question is, should I even consider a boat that had water in it. Despite the repairs, what about the stringers, floor, etc... is it worth pursuing?

    Curtis,

    I'd walk away.

Many years ago I bought a 35ft Bertram and discovered later that it had been partly flooded.
The hull structure was OK but the electrics were an ongoing nightmare - every cable in the lower sections of the boat had green corrosion peeping out of the end of the insulation.

If the professional repairs included a complete rewire of the lower half of the boat you might be OK, otherwise forget it.

There'll be another boat come up - don't be tempted by the low price.

Thank you for the insight. That’s what I thought I would hear. No electrical wiring was repaired or replaced. ☹️

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this but can anyone tell me what the button above the ACC is for? The LED turns on when pressed and a click from a relay is also heard. Many thanks in advance.
New to the site but my wife and I are keen boaters and cruise around the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria Australia. We have a 2004 320 which is called a 355 over here.
