Official 320 Dancer Thread

I used to do it every year... But someone told me I'm throwing my money away and now after thinking about it maybe but its piece of mind.. Now in my older years.. I do it every 2 years along with a new thermostat...

I dropped off my boat to my mechanic today and they changed the 2 impellers.
They found tone of debris in the transmission cooler.
They will run some water test tomorrow, hope it will fix the problem.

Evening All -- just bought a 2005 320 Sundancer so still getting a feel for the boat. Previously used to operating an IO set up. Question about trim. I feel like I can't get boat trimmed down as far as I want when I'm at the speed or rpm I would want to cruise at, around 3600 to 3800 rpm, even with tabs all the way down. However if I run about 4100-4200 rpm the boat trims out very nicely, but I don't want to run that close to the top end. Looking for some feedback from owners regarding how their boat trim, so I can determine if this is normal, if my boat is under tabbed, or some other issue. Appreciate any feedback.

I find the boat is very sensitive to speed/RPM and how the boat is loaded. No load I can trim out at 3600-3700 RPM and get the bow to drop. Loaded for a trip (I put as much weight as I can up towards the bow) with the dink on the swim platform is 3800-3900 RPM. Note I have the 6.2s.

Thanks Smokeio, could be the fact that I have had about 5 adults sitting in aft cockpit when ive been out. I'll have to stuff a few of them in the anchor locker next time...lol

I'm having the same problem so I changed the anchor to all chain 200ft.. And going to do 4 blade props next year and i think bigger trim tabs... I think that will fix the problem I hope but i would love to hear what others say...

We have the 5.7's and i find that with a light load we can stay on plane around 3700rpm but fully loaded with the dink on the platform I would have to run closer to 3900-4000 rpm. I added the drop fins to the tabs last season so i believe thats why i can stay on plane around 3700 with a light load. Also keep in mind that the 320 with either engine does tend to ride a bit bow high.

Is that with 3 blade props or 4 blade props?

I have the exact boat as you. I experience the same RPM vs trim. Maybe a little better but I'm on salt water all the time. I've got used to running at 4000 RPMs with a full load (4 people, 200 gal fuel, full water, luggage for weekend, etc). We really over pack in my family for some reason. On light cruises when I've got a half fuel and not much else I can plane at 3500 with some trim. I always come up to around 4000, maybe a bit more, until the bow settles down, then back off on the throttles and remove all trim. I start with trim on half or more to help get on plane (no idea if this is good or not but it seems to help). But those engines seem perfectly happy running 4000 to 4200 for two hours at a time. 30 gal per hour (15 per engine, or a bit less) at that RPM with full load.

Would love to hear from someone and chat with someone that actually switched to 4 Blade props from 3 blades... What pitch are they running and is it that much of a diffence. I'm running at 3900 to 4000 at 26/27mph... I did a hole bunch of searches but just would like to know the pitch and difference...

The latch that holds my cabin door open broke. Does anyone know the part number and/or a source for the part? Thanks!

Mightychan - SeaRay Parts manual for the 2004 Sea Ray 320DA shows the striker player as part #1761889 and the elbow catch as part 1591817. I know BoatOutfitters sells the entire door, but not sure about just the latch assembly. Any Sea Ray Dealership would be able to ship to you if you give them those part numbers though. Best of luck...

Has anyone installed the new Vesselview module with Bluetooth on their Mag 350MPI's, and if so how difficult is it?

My bilge pumps are not working properly on my 2007 320. Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to reach either of them in the ER? My arms aren't long enough.

Contemplating (very hard) upgrading my Sundancer 260 to a 320. Really want a wider beam. The 320 seems to be the only model that has close to our favorite set up on deck regarding the lounge seat adjacent to the captains chair.

Feedback on the 320????? Looking for mid 2000's. Would prefer I/O but inboards seems to be the only available option.

Just FYI we love our 320... And V drives are the only way to go!!!
