Official 290 Sundancer Thread

Matt- couple things. What's that big hole on the port side of your transom?? I noticed they went to the 2 latch system I thought they abandoned for your boat. Makes it harder to get in and out so I'm surprised an '08 has that design. Did your cockpit cover come with the boat?

Yeah. I know they went to a single latch at some point. I don't know when. I wish it were only a single latch. The cockpit cover came with the boat when I bought it, but not from the factory. The boat was used but the cover was bought new and installed when we bought the boat. It was ordered for a 290 (I don't know if it was the PO of mine or not) but the person who ordered it backed out before it was installed. The dealer offered it to me when I bought my 290 and I had it included in my deal.

Its a basketball thats part of the little UK "statue".

Yep. That's it.

Sorry, this is a new one to me if all the breakers check out but you may want to post in a new thread for more responses rather than the 290DA thread which doesn't really pertain to the 340. But, btw, curious as to the change from 2002 to 2000 with 7.4 versus 8.1's. Did you have issues with that boat that might benefit others?

I do not have the 340 any more I have a 2006 290da. I have the same boat you guys have help if you can

Did you try to actually use the windlass? Maybe the light in the switch burned out.

My control for the spotlight broke. The back of the control has 4 connectors. I have been to West Marine and 3 local marine shops - none of them have this switch. I have looked through marine supply catalogs. Nothing. I have temporaily replaced it with a switch that has three connectors. It works. I am guessing that the forth connector is to light up the switch when running lights are on. Does anyone have any recommendations or similar experience?

Hey ptallen your pm box is full. Please pm your email address and I will explain we are talking about the same thing. Thanks Nath

yes i did try the windlass eventhought the light didnt come on !!!! there is nothing, I will try pushing the breakes in even thought they look engaged ,

had to replace mine as well. I ended up finding a switch at an auto parts store.

Has/does anyone now about the windlass manual disconnect solinoid in the bilge ?
Has any on fool with this ? I think that we're my problem is , I believe it's in the disconnect mode . How do you reverse the solinoid. It's made by intelitech . For power battery disconnects ,on boats and RV's . They say there should be an on/off/on switch to
engage/disengage . Some on has had to encounter this any info would be helpful ! Sea ray has now clue nor the dealer ????????

Sorry but no idea what that solenoid is that you're referring to. Picture?

You can get new ones on Ebay or order them from Jabsco from most marina parts stores.. if thats what type of spotlight you have. the round black controller with the toiggle switch and direction toggle. If it is a jabsco you have then search jabsco searchlight, eBay.
part # 436700003 if that is the same one.

Bought new serp belt and still getting some belt particles in bilge. Pulleys on that engine look alittle rusty. So, I am looking for tips on maybe removing pulleys to sand and paint or just leave them on and sand and paint. Will that even help.
Appreciate advice.
Ron

Has anyone added a Raymarine 4KW 24" Radome RADAR? Mounted on your arch? What mount did you use? Can you share pictures? Thanks!

With the sale of my boat, I no longer have use for the custom made storage cover. I thought a fellow 2006-2008 290 owner might like it. It was made by Fischer and Sons in NJ. It's huge and heavy duty. I recall it had one smaller seam at the bow that needed taped or repaired but otherwise it's in good condition. I haven't used it the last 2 years since I was stored indoors. It has a zipper at the transom that allows you access to the boat even when it's secured. Comes with 3 mounting poles for bow. I will post pics when I am back in the office. I have to believe a new one is in the $1000 range but if someone wants to call the company and get a quote please let me know. So I'm fielding offers on it. I would think in one year of not shrink wrapping it could pay for itself.

Here are the two pics I have.
