ANOTHER QUESTION. im getting ready to splash the boat tomorrow . I would like to know
were you keep/mount the extra 10 or 5 bc fire extinquisher on/in the cockpit area if you
have any pic of the mounting would help. I guess one more question , i have a camper canvas
any good places on the boat to store them other then the aft cabin

I mounted my FE to the right of the access panel and the foot rest in the lower portion where it meets the deck in a vertical position. There is enough room to mount it out of the way of your feet. I don't have a pic. I don't keep my camper on board because I rarely use it. I don't like have the rear biminipoles installed because it interfers with my regular canvas which I use instead. If I know its going to rain all day I will bring the camp canvas and use it just for that day so being inside the cockpit isn't as cramped.
 
When you run with out the windows does the zipper part/material mark up the under side of the top/ hard top? I had blue/ scuff marks on the front under side , i had to wet sand some of it off it wouldn't rub out . What is the solution ? I'm figuring keeping side curtains attached to keep that part from flapping. ? Thanks What size FE did you use .? I have both a 5 and 10 bc
 
This is why I love this board . . to share ideas like this:

yes my canvas valance would flap as well and cause blue marks under the arch. Solution= add a 4 inch or so piece of clear or white "opposing sided" Velcro from the valance to the under side of the arch right in the middle and simply press the valance to it by folding it under. Works perfect! You can test by holding it in that position while underway. The clear Velcro is unnoticeable.

I can't remember the size of my FE but it's what is recommended for that size. I also have one in the cabin and the automatic system.

By the way, have you found what I would consider as the secret storage compartment? It's not like the 280s but I had my boat for 2 years before I found it.

What he said for the front of the radar arch.

The secret storage is great, but what do you put in there? The admiral will not let me put what I want to in there :wow:.

As for the camper canvas, I store the aft sections under the aft mattress separated by a sheet. The forward 5 sections I keep in the bag and just bring them when I need to.

Ok there is lthe storage in the floor / sump area . Under the step , under the v birth.
under the settee . Under the ac duck work in the settee or compartment by the AC access
or all the reguler cabinet the/on top of the ? Am I close ? Thanks again
 
You've got those obvious ones covered but no dice yet. It has a little more surprise factor. At least it did for me.

Main berth . . . Check the head of the bed . .

I know the storage beneath the bed, the two hatch covers one is partial to the a/c unit and one dedicated to just storage !!! but i coudlnt get the small cushion to come up/removethe one at the head of the bed ? Is that it, or the mirror come OFF ???

By the way my drive trim switch on the handle work fine UP/DOWN ,

one more question again I have a smartcraft SC5000-vessel view . everything work but the rudder angle indicator. Merc said there is no sensor for BIII out drives that the R/A Ind is just for inboard option ???? is that true !!! thanks jim
 
Became the parent of a 07 290 Sundancer. Great boat. Reading all the threads and learning from experienced sailors. Getting ready for some longer trips up/down the west side of Florida. Anybody have marina favs or interesting stops? Thanks all.

I have another fix. Unsnap the two snaps on each side at the low point on the arch where the small flap attaches to it. Then flip the flap out and up (velcro out). It tightens up against the arch and doesn't flap at all. I too have some marks on my arch from the flap before I figured that out.

The forward most cushion doesn't come up (without removing screws).

No, the mirror doesn't come off either.
 
Any answers about the vessel view rudder angle indicator
does yours work ? Is it available with the I/O. Is there a sensor
available for it.

I have a SC5000 vessel view. Thanks

i do not have any rudder indication and I don't believe it is available for my setup.

I currently have the SC5000 too, but I am about to install Vessel View to replace it.
 
I'm going to be transplanting my flag pole from the current, port side, above the engine compartment vents to the aft, starboard corner (probably). Where are your flags mounted? Was it factory installed? (Mine was, but it is in the wrong place, according to convention.)

will not work for I/O's, its only for the inboard options . But i just had to ask

Mine is on the grab rail on top of the arch. BTW, anyone have a recommendation on replacement batteries?

Mine is where you have described where you intend to place it. On the aft (trunk) to the starboard edge just to the left of the transom walk thru. It was installed by the factory.
