Official 280 Sundancer Thread

OK here is the deal... I contacted Great Lakes about replacement canvas for my Radar Arch the Bimini and the aft sunshade. They want like $588.00 & $617.00 for the two pcs.. are you kidding me ??? This much for these two small pcs of canvas?? BTW that is for the canvas only... What a rip off !!!!
 
Jason78 , how far out of the aft eim did you find the spare wire for 12v power? it says its red and violet but so are others and like you said, alot of tape.

It was only 2 or 3 inches from the Plug that connects to the aft EIM. Not much to work with, just enough to splice on to. I started removing tape from the plug and worked my way up. Along with being sealed with tape, it was buried in the middle of the bundle as well.

Yes that is pricy and the reason I decided to replace all but the Bimini and Aft Sunshade. The added cost might be due to the rubber backing on the fabric. Mine washed up great with a bristle brush and laundry detergent. I also ran it through the washing machine then sprayed it with 303 sealant. It looks as good as new. Everything else needed to be replaced because the clears were not clear any more.
 
thanks jason. i added the sub today and found the sub wire last week. i just wanted to add a small amp just for the sub and run it off the aft acc1 button so when its not necessery, i can power down the sub and keep the factory amp on for the 4 cockpit speakers which i can run all day without killing my batteries.
 
My local canvas guy is replacing everything both aft and fwd sunshades all new eisenglass, 5 pieces, and aft curtain w/a window, all for 1325.00. Go with a local canvas shop if you can.

What color are you getting? I have everything new except the front and aft sun shades and planned to do those if I keep her. Can you ask him how much to do those for me?. Thanks.

I'll ask him today Donnie, the guy I use is in Lake county (Marks Custom Canvas)352-365-0112, I'm going w/the captains navy color.

If its not too late to change, switch the eisenglass with Strataglass. Its a little bit stiffer, but you can actually see through it. We also found that with it up the cockpit area seems cooler as well.
