We have a small fluke anchor in the lazaret for stern anchoring. I have yet to use it though as it came with the boat and we just got the boat.Just wondering what everyone is using for a stern anchor. Im in a lake with a mixed bottom and a lot of debris.
Can you share a picture of the spool? I want to keep the lazaret as well organized as possible.I keep a small Danforth (12#) and 100' of 3/8" rode on a spool in the stern locker with the fenders. We only use it for special needs like positioning the boat for optimal viewing of fireworks or concerts, but it has held multiple boats when used. We are in fresh water with mud & rock.
An easy and cheap method is to use one of those orange, electrical cord reels from HD.Can you share a picture of the spool? I want to keep the lazaret as well organized as possible.

I don't have a picture of mine but its similar to this. .Can you share a picture of the spool? I want to keep the lazaret as well organized as possible.
You all should know something about Henry, though. His "scrap" is usually what we would call "fine carpentry". You should see HIS fine carpentry!I made one from plywood scrap taking a 6” x 24” piece with 1” notches on each end.
Really I might know her got a twin myself and we kinda stick to our own kindShe's photoshopped. She's really the twin sister of Gary's wife.:wow:
We have a 2005 265 Sundancer and are looking to do some remodeling in the cabin. The cushions in the V-berth are stiff and uncomfortable, and I'm thinking of getting a mattress topper, but I'm also considering removing the bolsters along the side of sleeping area (we never set it up as a table so have no need of them as back rests). Anyone ever remove them? How do you manage the storage under the bed if it's always set up as a bed? The cushions need to be removed to access the area.
Ok Will try to answer your questions. BTW do you have a manual - I'll augment my comments with pg numbers.
Shore power: connect to the receptacle in the transom storage bin. On the main distribution panel (adjacent to the aft stateroom) you'll see a light that shows power and an analog gauge that shows current. (pg 42). You then turn on whichever AC device you want, i.e.fridge, etc. NOTE: The AC Converter switch must be on to charge the batteries (however the battery switches do not need to be on).
Shore water: adjacent to the shore power in that same locker is the water inlet Just screw in the hose and turn on the water. FYI it does not fill up the water tank - you have to do that manually (pg 10).
To use the head: turn on the Head System switch on the DC panel - directly below the AC portion of the panel. Turn on the key switch in the head and go at it FYI a routine maintenance item is changing the duckbill valves and the filter. Lots of youtube videos on this. Not a pleasant but necessary routine task.
They'll be 1-1/2". For future reference, you can find this kind of thing in your parts manual.I have a 2006 280DA so you know what size duckbill valves are used for the head system? Are they 1 1/2" or 2" my boat is winterized right now and not easy to get to and I would like to order them so I have them when I get it out of storage in a few weeks. Thanks for any help
Don’t know the number, but the access plate under the mattress in the cave (for gas tank sender) on our 02 280 was the same as the arch. I know because the arch plate yellowed and I swapped the two.Would anyone happen to know the PN for the access hole cover on the arch of my 2001? I’ve looked through the boat IPB and can’t seem to find it anywhere. Thank you in advance!
That’s exactly what has happened to mine, it’s yellowed and started to crack. Thanks for the heads up about the sender cover though...I’ll look into swapping them out and fabbing something for under the mattress if I can’t find a replacement.
