Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Anyone know of a sun shade that is offered by a vendor that will extend shade from radar
Arch canvas to back of boat? Something that is a std item from
A vendor and does not have to be custom made. Or is custom my only option?

Help Help !!!! Ok , my stereo doesn't turn on at all not even the remote switches , also my aft cabin TV does not come on .( I figure they are on the same line ) ,I checked the
breakers under dash , in the engine compartment . All look good , any ideas would be welcome ! ALSO which switch on dash works the under platform lights .i hit the assesory light switches on the rt/strb side and nothing ,
 
AC questions,,!!!! My A/C keeps freezing up . At first ,it worked great , cabin was ice cold, at first start up ! I set temp at 65' , and of course cooled cabin but then froze up. so I shut it down to thaw out , after thawing out I then set the temp to 73 degrees , but it froze up again i also noted ( the water drip pan is very rusty ,and the water wasn't draining ,and rust floating in it ,I think the drain line might be blocked . Any tips would be great ( I know I have to get drip pan to drain , so I will clean out any loose rust and spray with rust arrester ( trying to save pan ) then blow out lines . BUT MAIN PROBLEN IS THE FREEZING !!!

Make sure the screen is clean on the unit - once that is dirty air flow stops and it can freeze - also make sure there is nothing blocking the return grate in cabin. I had both of these happen on a prior boat.

All that is good, I did leave the cabin door open for a bit , and noticed the water wasn't draining from drip pan or the setting are not right , I just got the boat .

I think custom is your only option for a sunfly shade. They are just getting popular now so unless you can find a canvas company that made a pattern for them which I think is highly unlikely. I had mine made out of sunbrella fabric for $350 plus the SS poles from canvas designers

For the stereo, make sure the button on the dash (stud top rt) is on and both switches below the light switches inside the cabin door are on.

For the underwater lights, mine are wired to the aft accy switch on the port dash panel.

Check with Great Lakes Canvas. They make the stock SeaRay canvas and may have what you are looking for. They often have sales too.

Great Lakes only does OEM, they will not customize, thus calling them is a waste of time....unfortunately.

I agree. I had a camper canvas made two seasons ago. (somewhere, there is a thread on it) I have absolutely no regrets, and it has drastically improved our boating experience.
 
I began the process to replace cabin TV on bulkhead with a digital one. I removed the old tv and the power cord is a 3 prong female odd shape like a laptop uses... My new Vizio digital tv has a 2 prong female thin power cord. Now what? Do I disconnect the existing power cord from wherever it is, which I don't know where it plugs in. is there an Adapter available? Do I get a different TV?? Appreciate any ideas and exact model TV's you have if you had good luck.... Thanks..

When you removed the shroud, there should have been an electrical outlet on the left along the laminate wall. (Covered by the shroud) That is where mine was powered from. If not, it is not that hard to run a new wire down to the circuit breaker panel.

Was the television in place there from the factory, or did someone add it on their own?

A thanks for your help , for under platform light I pushed every button on strb side,
ill try the aft accy switch next weekend . For the stereo , I have now power light at all ,
will that switch put power to the radio system ?. Also I have no power to the aft cabin tv.

Another question on the switch for the water system on strb dash panel , what is the function ,use for that switch since you turn on the water on the main panel in the cabin
 
anyone ever had this issue with their a/c? i have to set mine down the 55 degrees for it to reach about 68 in the cabin. it seems like its working fine, but the temp on the thermostat is way off. anyone have any ideas? doesnt freeze up or anything either. seems like thermostat is off by about 10 degrees or so. weird

I don't remember how but there is a way to reset the thermostat so it recalibrates the temp setting vs actuall. I googled it and found a step by step process. Took about 3 min. I had put a portable thermostat in the cabin right next to the smx thermostat so I had a reference of true temp before I recalibrated. I used to have to have mine at 64 to get it to 70, now setting it at 70deg and it stays at 70
