Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Looks good Scott. I think we have the same TV, but yours seems to sit just outside the shroud, or am I seeing things? If so, how'd you get it do sit outside the shroud?

Mine mounted tight to the wall and on the inside of the shroud. You're right about having to move the whole mount to the left, I need to do that too. I haven't done that yet, still needing to tweak the cutout of the shroud a little more since the TV speakers are on the bottom edge of the unit and sound a little muffled inside the shroud.

Mine has a ¼ inch backer plate to move it off the bulkhead...maybe that is the difference. It does sit outside the shroud enough to uncover the speakers, which is nice. I do have the whole thing routed through the aux input on the stereo as well.

Can anyone tell me what the model# is for the cockpit Norcold Refrigerator in a 2005 340? Mine runs but does not cool. Trying to troubleshoot but forgot to write down the model #. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Here you go...

Estimate to replace impellars- - Is $425 for labor and $90 for parts a reasonable price to replace the impellars on both engines?

Just got a quote for $480 labor and $80 for parts. I thought that sounded pretty much like the going price for both engines.

By that was for both engines. $80/hour labor and $49 for the impellers.

I think it's a good price but I just did them myself to learn how to do them in a pinch if needed and it sucked. If the pain wears away in a couple years I may try it again but the thought of paying someone around $500 to do them is awfully tempting.

I agree - - But I am not built for those kinda jobs any more...... So I will be paying.....

I have vibration coming from the port side. It can be felt in the passenger port seat as you ride along... Plugs and wires were replaced two years ago. I do not feel any issues with RPM out of sync between the engines nor any power loss getting on plane. Did not have any vibration at end of last year. Have not hit anything this year as a matter of fact don't even have an hour on boat this year. Approximately 110 total hours on engines... Am going to start with a change of plugs and wires. Any other suggestions?

Most times the wires don't need to be replaced. The plugs however are a different story. Since the engines run at such a constant high rpm, plugs can fail quickly. Start with a good set of plugs and see if that resolves your issue. BTW, when was the last time you replaced the distributor cap?

Another question - Just changes the plugs and wires. Did not have a chance to run under load. They started fine. My question is upon a cold start, if I immediately try to throttle up there is a bog down, then revs up.... Only does this when cold. Was curious if this is normal?

I have the exact same situation. I changed plugs about 10 running hrs ago so I doubt that is the problem.

I called the service guy earlier this week. He suggested it is either a prop or bad cutlass bearing. Still waiting to hear back from him...

These 8.1 engines are plug eaters. Make it an annual maintenance item.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the new cabin floor. I was real pleased the way it turned out but it took longer than I thought it would. I also upgraded the TV on the Bulkhead.

The floor is made by Karndean. It's a glue down. Each plank and strip is a separate piece. The hardest part was the floor prep. It took a good 6 nights to get the floor level enough to where I was happy.

Very nice. What was the process getting the old carpet up and floor level? What did you find under there?
