Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

So far the only responses have been those with the factory installed TV. Does anyone have experience with a fresh install on the bulkhead?

This is my install on our 05 320. I believe its the same as your 340 the original tv was near the forward berth so I had to install a mount and run power to the bulk head. Install was relatively easy. I ran an hdmi and coax back to the cabinet which housed the original tv near the forward berth. The gfi outlet is located in the compartment below the steering wheel at the helm. I went with a low profile mount and a 40" Samsung because the wall looked a bit bare with the 28" I originally wanted to use. I have about 1" clearance to open the door to the electrical panel. If you choose to go with a 40" I'd get the thinnest lowest profile you can find as its very doable but you are already playing with a small amount of clearance from that door IMG_0259.jpg. Running the cables down the starboard side and under the bed above the ac was the biggest pain but it took me about 2 hours total for the run.

What mount did you use?

I was thinking of using a tilt mount so the tv isn't pointed at the floor

Hey gang... sorry that I'm late to this thread, but I just finished my TV install and wanted to share my experience. I have a 2004 vintage. I decided to go with a 32" Samsung Smart TV. Since the bulkhead has a slight incline and I didn't want to go the route of the shroud, I contacted Dale at DD Fabrication and Marine. He has designed a custom milled mount that holds the TV against the bulkhead when underway, but swings out to lay flat when you want to view. The end results were exactly what I was looking for. I ended up drilling a hole in the middle of the bulkhead, sealed with a grommet, to run the wires.

I haven't completely figured out my final power source, as I'm currently using an inverter under the helm. I can't decide if I'm going to install a 110v or stay with the 12 volt inverter.

I've attached a couple of pics of the viewing angle, storage angle and side angle. This is my first post, and haven't figured out how to layout the pics better. Hope this helps!

I have an aux/ipod port under the salon cupboards against the electrical panel and using my ipod via 10m long aux cable at the helm and cockit, but I'd like to add that port at helm to minimize the long cable mess and keep close the cabin door and/or midcabin porthole.

Any tricks to intall it without cancelling the cabin port ?

TIA

If you have a Bluetooth device get a dongle. I use this one with good success.

Thanks Alex,
It fits to my Galaxy S6 but not to my 7th generation 160gb ipod classic as I have there my whole music archive.

Gotcha. If you have the 6 disc changer and you don't use it you could always unhook that from the back of the head unit, and use those RCa jacks and run an RCA to 10mm AUX port at the helm.

Alex thanks again, good catch.

Yes I have the 6 cd changer and rarely use it. It didn't came to my mind, gonna try it.

I was thinking if I'd solder an other RCA to the existing cables of salon port would work like a helm and swim platform remote stereo control.

RCA splitter ports might be an option if you only have something plugged into one or the other. While we are on the topic though can anyone explain how someone would access the space behind that panel where the aux jack is? I wouldn't mind running USB or DC power to that area but it looks impossible to reach.

Amen brother!

Yes, I also thought that 1 for 2 splitter.

I disassembled the 12 volt panel and unscrewed the four screw of the clarion head unit but the cables at the back didn't let it to come out so I recorded a short video of backside of it so you can see what's behind there.

PS: I inserted the YouTube link but it doesn't show the video, only showing the link, what to do to see the video ?

I have a 2006 340 that was purchased last fall. The smartcraft depth and water gauge are not working and based on my research on this forum the transducer is the likely suspect.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the transducer pictured below? I need to make sure it has the correct connector on the cable as well.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know the inner diameter of the rod holders on the 340 by any chance? I didn't see anything on clubsearay.com when I did a google site search.

Looking luscious. Can't wait to install it next week. Will post pics when I do. Thanks again.

Looks like the Transducer is number 9.

Mark

Thank you so much for the help. Just found one new in box on eBay so hopefully my 340 will have depth and temperature working when I launch in a couple weeks.
