Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

Trying to post a picture.

Looks nice Vida!

I am having a hard time deciding. The blue look cool, but I like the idea of switching to white.

I am getting ready to order zincs for this season. Can anyone tell me if the engines have anodes? i had a marine mechanic look and he was surprised not to find them. My boat is is equipped with 350 mag horizons with V drives.

No, your engines do not have anodes

Sold!! Thanks guys!

310 Owners-

I have a set of cockpit carpets for the 98-00 model years. I put them up on ebay but would definitely work with a CSR member. They came with my new to me 2001. I opened the box...wrong engine hatch pattern so I'm selling these to buy the ones that fit. I'll post them in classifieds too but I'd like to spread the word around this thread.

Hey guys. I've received 2 orders so far from my hatch cover project: http://clubsearay.com/showthread.ph...ct!-Steps-Pics-Details-(1-hour-13!)?highlight=

If you guys are interested, let me know. I have a 1999 310DA, and the 2 orders I have received are from a 330, and another 310, all 1999 models. They work great, and are cheap! All 3 for $50 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested: jaywoodz@gmail.com

Thanks Jay. These look like a great alternative to my flimsy art board and difficult external canvas. Going to put them on tomorrow. One comment. I think the unfinished side could be used cabin side down and then maybe covered with contact type paper to match your interior. That would leave the white side up to reflect the heat. Another idea would be white side down and a mirrored sticky back Mylar to really reflect the outside sun.

Just a thought.

OEM prop size for 1998 310DA with 350's (5.7) and V-Drives
Can somebody with a 1998 310 tell me the original prop size and pitch.
I have checked and I believe they came with 16X16.
I contacted the original owner of my boat and he says he never changed the prop size and he bought the boat new.
I have 14.5" X 15 props.
If anybody with a 1998 -2000 has changed and got better performance with something else please let me know also.
I know this is a often asked question but, as expensive as props are I do not want to Gamble.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

:smt024View attachment 28910Sprint - I have the 31DA 2000 it brought 15" X 16" three blade props. I was having a problem getting out of the hole if I had additional weight on board. I changed to 14" X 16" four blade props which have provided better out of the hole lift also there is less vibration and better overall performance. I find that a 15" dia seems to small a surface area which would also bring up the Rep's. due to the size. I found that prop size is based on how you boat and the performace that you actually want - speed vs economy.

Bob, I have a PDF from Sea Ray that shows:

1998 - 310DA - Twiv V-Drive 5.7 Merc (T-260 PHP) VEL 5000 - 16x16 3 BC

If you have the 350 MAG MPI (300 horse) it's 16x17 3BC

(i'll email you the PDF shortly)

Vida,
Thanks.
After researching the proper way to measure the diameter I have come up with 15".
I feel a little better now.
Vida, in looking into your profile I also seen that you have the Volvo DP and that would not be compatable to my V-Drives

I have 2 windows on my starboard side where the bathroom is. One is accessible through the bathroom, and there is an additional one directly next to it that serves NO purpose at all. In fact when I look inside, I see the outside wall of the bathroom.. I need to replace the screen/window and troubleshoot a leak, but I can't get into the inside! Any ideas? Just seems so weird that Sea Ray would waste a window/port just for looks?

thats the way they are made, i guess the window is there to keep symmetry form side to side????

i had to get into ours. as best as i can remember, i took the cabinet above the head out. look at that and see what you think. my memory isn't the best.

I'm assuming so, but it's now just presenting a headache to me as this work will take hours to complete when no window would have never caused a leak. Now, I have to take apart the bathroom and replace the window seal. Just frustrating when the sun hits it too and it's got a tacky pink fiberglass glare.

Anybody had an issue with an engine RPM’s fluctuating over 3000 RPM?

I’ve been experiencing a problem this year with keeping the engines synced and looking for some ideas on a resolution. Bringing both engines up evenly the sync indicator is centered up to around 3,200 – 3400 rpm, then the port engine starts to drop 200 – 400 rpm and fluctuates up and down (mostly down).

The problem at first could be corrected by “jerking” the throttle up then down allthoug this method of correction is no longer working. The reduced rpm can also be recognized audibly so I have to assume it is not a faulty Sync indicator.

Fuel filters were changed at the beginning of the season.

Anyone have similar problems / solutions?

Thanks

I know this is an older thread, but I'm having the same issue and will need to investigate further as to what it is. It will randomly drop RPM's (It=Port) and won't really do well until I'm at 4,500 rpms+.. basically one it flows more fuel, it seems to stop. Getting up on plane is where I see the problem most often. I'm having my mechanic look at it this week or next. Also, the RPM's are not the same on either engine, even when sync'ed. Another issue I'm going to look into, but I'm guessing it's most likely just the gauges.

Night docking lights

Any one using night docking lights ...

saw these....

http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/AND-V525S-2/Anderson+Halogen+Boat+Docking+Light+Kit.html

where would you mount them??? transom?

I have a set of these (white). They are VERY bright and are helpful at night or dusk backing up the boat. Even docked I use them to help people on and off at night since the dock lights are not bright at all to keep the bugs away. I highly recommend if you utilize your boat at night, go out to do projects after work or enjoy a night to "get away".

Where do you have those mounted? Pics are great ;)

You can see them hanging from the radar arch.

I ripped the bed liner out in case anyone is interested of what it looks like. I found a LOT of mold and things growing (yes, growing) back there behind that thing. It was absolutely disgusting. I removed it to see how much extra room I would have sleeping and it's a lot! Now I just need to figure out how to piece up the rest so it doesn't look so tacky. Ideas anyone?
