Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

sounds like you and i have been on the same course this past winter.
Tell me about the screens. That is my next project and I have not even looked at them so your exoerience will be helpfull.
How about some pictures of all of your hardwork. I have also taken off all the graphics on my 1998. about to install the boot stripe but would like to see yours first. same with the TV mount. I have allready bought the mount but am curious about the box or drawer you mentioned.
Thanks
Bob

I don't think our '98's have screens... if you figure out a way to do that, let me know :)

Also, would be curious to see what your boat looks like without the stripe...

I can send you a pic on how I mounted our LED TV. The '99 inside is 100% different, so his experience won't help you too much. I have our LED on a swing mount, it's mounted directly to the right of the locker. right before it curves to the port side. When we run, the left half of the TV is in front of the locker door, the right half in front of the space where that little shelf is. The TV is JUST the right size to be about to swivel either way, towards the bed or towards the dining area.

Sure, shoot me a PM with your email or reply here and I will send you a zip file, pretty proud of all the work we did so I don't mind sharing.
Regarding the screens, I removed the gaskets inside with a putty knife carefully, took a heat gun and pulled off the screens. Bought a roll from Home Depot, cut out new ovals with about 2" oversize all the way around, then took clear silicone and squirted it on the gasket on my workbench, placed the screen loosly in the opening but stretched out enough to fit the gasket in, then placed the gasket in, cleaning off any excess silicone (don't need much), then shut the windows for two days and locked in place with the plastic stays. After two days, trimmed the screen and worked perfect. FYI, there is one window you cannot reach, its unaccessible and is hidden behind the head wall on the port side. I simply masked it off and blasted it with black spray paint and looks like new.

Regarding the tv and drawer, I can get you a pic. I too mounted a large extendo flatscreen arm mount, but to the left side of the opening inside on the wall, and crowded the top of the opening. The old tv swivel was pretty useless and looked bad so I went to Lowes, bought some poplar 1/2" boards about 4" tall and made a custom box that screwed right on top of it. SO, now when I slide the swivel in and out, it acts as a drawer, I painted it black. Works awesome and fills the void under the tv.

Can you send a pic of your Seadek? Thanks

Also, check out my profile pic for how the stripe looks. I like it much better than the swoosh.

my 98 does have screens. I will send you a picture of the boat without stripes (will be a day or 2 before I can get the picture) and then one after I restripe it.
I will send you a PM with my e-mail for the pictures.
Thanks

i kinda went a different way for the TV. I also bought a mount that I will use on the left side that will tighten down with set screw so it cannot swing in boat movement. I bought a large 24" flat screen that will set flush and cover most of the opening. I will make some kind of a cabinet to finish behind the TV when I have time.

Just launched my new to me 1998 310 Sundancer on Friday. Everything went smooth, this is my own first boat, finally got my own boat after stealing my fathers for years. I love this boat!! But with everything used, comes those little problems. Maybe some of you can help.

1: My A/C unit will run for a while and it runs fine, but after a while I get a message on the screen that says "Low PS" does anyone know what this means or where I can find a manual?

2: My starboard fuel gauge doesn't work, anyone ever have this issue?

3: My port windshield wiper motor must be on its way out, it tries to turn but then pops the breaker in the helm cabinet. Is this a nightmare to replace?

Any help is greatly appreciated

You can find this on Sea Ray's site, or just a google search on "cruiseair low ps". Low PS is low pressure. The guides show what to check for.

Could be a ton of things from a bad gauge, bad sender, cut cable, etc. Trace to the source.

Replacement of this motor involves removing the headliner in the cabin. Not fun.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks psubill78, I was looking at the headliner the other day where I know the motor is buried. It looks as it a whole panel can come off to expose it. I'll have to take a better look this weekend. I'm afraid to pull it because it'll never go back on the same. I'm half tempted to just live with the starboard wiper for now...and just enjoy the boat.

To remove the head liner you have to feel about 3/4 inch from the edge for screw heads. Then dig the "tucked" material out of the crease only around the screw heads. and unscrew the expose screws. I used a computer port cover (you know the little metal plates that cover the unused places where you put more cards into the computer?) and I bent the end into a tight hook to grab the ends of the material and extract it. SeaRay can assist with the schematics for those screw locations. I did the exact same thing on the starboard side. job is not too bad. Be sure to adjust the motor travel pins prior to closing up the headliner. Hopefully this is relevant to your model year. I have a 01.

I have a small amount of water collecting on the stbd side on the vinyl behind the front berth after a good rain (just below the port lights). Anyone have the same issue? I can't see how it could be coming all the way down from the hatches through the headliner, but I can't seem to figure it out. Everything else looks tight and sealed on the bow. Any help is appreciated....

Start reading at post 710 .. see if that helps ... I caulked all hatches last year and found that the default installation used a gasket! So that may be the problem. - I'd 4200 all three hatches if I were you. It's easy...

Last year I had everything caulked on the bow. The windlass, the stanchions, the lights. The handyman that we use at home did the whole bow and cockpit for $150 plus the caulk. He removed the old and put in the new. No leaks since.

Yes, had this issue when my 2001 310DA was new. Turned out to be the port and starboard running lights. They were never sealed from the factory. Had both housings pulled and resealed and problem was solved. It's been 10 years now.....and no leaks.

Ditto - extremely common to have those running lights have that 1/2" wide hole be completely unsealed. Pull the lights, seal the hole, then seal the housing once on.

Low ps on ac is low pressure. May need a top off on freon / r22. Pretty sure you can Dina manual online.

I took the blades off my wipers.... Never have i ever used them....and the made putting cockpit cover a pain

Fuel gauges on any boat are prone to failure. My starboard also went bad. Picked up a universal when boaters world went under a few years back and has worked fine. They have instructions to set up based on tank size. Regular price was just at 100, mine was 50 on sale.

I'll have to check on the Freon and download the manual, that makes sense though. Here's a really stupid/random question for you guys though. The shower curtain is gone in the head. There's a funny looking track and no inserts. Is there a place I can buy the inserts that slide in that little track or buy a whole shower curtain?
