:smt024View attachment 17908Sorry have been dis connected. Traveling. The dinghy at the bow is ok for short trips since its easy to tie down it's out of the way for placing / setting the achors at the beach. I have been thinking of purchasing the davit system but many friend boater's have indicated the same thing that they are not to fund of it. I saw a set for about $175 on e bay but, it it not have the rubber units that need to be appied to the dinghy and that another couple of bucks plus having them placed. Does the system keep the dinghy from moving around and safe?

When I had a dinghy (achilles inflatable with 8 hp) I had the weaver davits attached to the Dinghy and the " removable" davit clips on the platform. We would bring hte dinghy behind the boat.. clip it in and pull it up and out of the water and lean it on the back of the boat, then tie it in.

BTW: What are you towing in your picture? It looks like you are going pretty fast.

BTS- I am going to look into the davits system since you can remove the bases form the platform which was my concern. On the picture I was pulling my 12 ft whaler I give it about 100 ft of line. If seas are good I can move pretty good without it bouning about.

Billnpat - I'll look at the new Led lighting series since they don't consume alot of power (amps) and they really light up the area well. Also they don't heat up and last for a very long time vs bulbs.

Thanks Vida.....

I picked up a little Walker Bay 8 last fall and I want to get some sort of davit system. I like the Nautley design because it leaves the outboard in the normal position. Our swim platform seems barely large enough even with the "extended" option on the Nautley. The tilt-up designs seem to be a bit clunky and I don't want to hassle with taking the outboard on and off. Would love to see pics and hear opinions of others that have either type of system.

Here at Lake Mead we've been on the boat about twice a month through the winter. Looking forward to swimmable water temps but dreading the 100+ degrees! :smt001

What's involved in recomisioning the fresh water system on my boat..
step by step
please,

1-Open your faucets and run the water until pink stuff runs through and tank is empty
2-Refill tank with fresh water, add 4-6oz bleach, and run through all faucets again until empty
3-Refill tank with fresh water, if water still seems a bit funky, run through again and refill one final time

There is also a small filter/screen on the fresh water pump where the source hose connects to the pump, you might need to unscrew the fitting, wash the screen, then put it back. If clogged you might not get a prime with the fresh water pump.

Thanks Bob,
where is the the fresh water pump?

It is on the firewall, starboard side. Atleast that is where mine is located.

I have a '99 310 DA with 5.7L Bravo 3's with 22P 3 blade props. Has anyone put any different pitch props on their boat. I can only get 4000 rpm's at WOT, and it has a lot of slippage. I am considering Signature four blades. I put a post in the engine and drive forum with no luck, so I thought I would post here. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

May be a stupid questions, but;

1-Is your bottom cleam?
2-Are you sure the trim is accurate?

Does anyone have the dimensions written down for the cabinet on the port side near the cabin entry? I have a great deal on a ice maker/ refigerator that I hope fits.

I am going to the boat in a couple of hours and can measure mine than. How are you going to power it? Do you have an inverter installed?

No inverter. I was going to rely on AC only. So, I would only need to run water and AC to the cabinet.

The dimensions are 28H X 24D X 21 W. The water hook up is recessed so I should only have to allow for another 1/2 in for the hose.

Yes and yes. The props act like they aren't grabbing the water.

Well... If the props would not be "grabbing the water" you would not be maxing out (WOT) at 4000 RPM. This sounds more like a drag problem than a prop problem. I am not trying to contradict you, but rather keep you from spening a bunch of money without soliving your problem.

I did change my prop in my smaller boat, but not on a twin prop config as the Bravos.

One last note, I see you have Bravo III's. Are you certain they are functioning properly. I just don't see your problem being the props... Sorry.

View attachment 18470gmclain. I recommend you remove the prop's and have them check out. The prop's on out drives have a bushing which could be defective and as such could be slipping not giving you the required bite. When did you notice the problem and were you able to go over 4000 rpm's in the past. Also another thing to check the prop's also have a spacer behind them have you removed the prop's resently?

Hope this is helpful.

i think your on the money here.

those b 3's grab a lot of water; thats the idea. both of them going bad at the same time isn't likely

also the b 3 doesn't use bushings. there are 2 nuts per drive to hold the props on and thats it. they spline up, metal to metal, on the out put shafts

i to think your looking for drag or performance issues
