Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

Jaywoodz - These holding tank require a little internal cleaning and disinfecting. What I have done is empty out the system and fill with fresh water then add a few oz's of bleach (clorox) for a few hours. The marina can then vaccum it out. I do this once or twice a year and has worked well. Hope it's helpful.

Hello all, new to the forum and I am looking for the 5/8th brass trim that goes around the galley and salon area. The brass finish has worn off and the black plastic is coming thru and I am looking to clean up the look. All I can find is Chrome on Ebay. I am looking to change out the trim and also replace the reading lights with nice brass LED lights from Taylorbrite instead of the plastic ones from sea ray. I have listed the links below to clarify. Any insight would be appreciated.

1st off welcome!
You might try the link below for what you are looking for. They are normally a little less expensive and easier to deal with.

Enjoy the forum. Is this 310 new to you?

Bob,

Thanks for the link to FP Marine. They didn't have it, cant believe its this difficult to find the trim. Yes, the 310 is new to me and so far really liking everything about the boat. It runs great and handles extremely well. Iam also in need of direct replacement LEDs for the nav. I dont want to replace the bulbs but the whole fixture and I want it in white. It seems I am only finding stainless.. I will keep looking but thanks again for your help.

Quick question for those of you with 350's. Do you know what diameter shafts we have on the V-Drive set up?

Head system question: is the vacuum pump always making noise when turn on? Mine seems to be not closing properly somewhere. All the seals from the toilet has been changed but still same noise. Any suggestion?

Head system should only be making nose wen flushed. Vacuum pump will be working for 1-2 minutes at the most. If yours is always cycling, then there is a leak somewhere in the system.

340 Another thing to look at is the vaccum pump hose and shaft. In my case the shaft set screw was lose it only vaccumed when the screw would grab the shaft, it would stay on longer than it should. Also the hose was re adjusted since there seem to be a small leak. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll work on them and report back.

Got so many questions... this forum has great info.

Power Vents, just change a blown fuse on the main panel that I tought was for the Power Vents, but these are still not working. Where is located this motor?

Anyone using a solar panel to charge the batteries while out of the slip and without turning on the genset?

Anyone running a dorm refrigerator out of a power inverter, please don't flame me for this. I know a AC/DC is the recommendation around, but trying to make this work.

Well, these are just some of them. Your help and input are really appreciated.

340. The Inside power vents on my boat are behind the refig. I have a breaker in the main DC panel for this blower. If it is the engine vents the breaker is found below the outside sink. There is a panel which store the battery selector switches and main breakers for the blowers. As for solar a use a 5 watt panel for short trips just to maintain some charge. I purchased a small i 2000 honda generator which I use during the day during long trips, it only uses 1 gallon of fuel and can run 8 to 10 hours for batteries, frig and ice maker. As for inverters, I would only recommend adding a battery buddy unit which will monitor your batteries and will alert and shut the flow to avoid a complete drainage. I see that you are in PR I am located in Isleta Marina. Hope this is helpful.

I was able to find the exact product from Outwater Plastics. Be ready to look hard through a million products they have, but I am sure it is still there. I had the same problem with my trim. Black showing through.

Who made the camper back for you? I just purchased all new canvas, however, I would like to get the camper back...How much was it? Did it come with all the poles?

Harley, I am not sure who you are asking the question too.
I had mine make by a custom shop in Indiana. It included all the poles and supports. I can't give you the cost of the camper top portion only as I did all canvas as a package. My guess would be 1500-2000 for only the camper top.

Fuel Injectors... who has problems with these? I got a 5.7L MPI MAG Mercruiser engine.

Part # for the injectors is 861260T

Got all 16 injectors checked and analized before installing them. 4 of them were changed because they were damage.

After installing them and running the boat, 1 of them went bad. This was change and back to normal operation.

Today, I'm changing another one (now got 6 new injectors).

Seems like a very poor design on these injectors

Any input is really appreciated.

340 This is pretty strange. You stated damaged. Electrically don't fire could they clogged? Does your engine have the cool fuel system. Mercuriser has had many problems with this system, many owners have found that the unit were releasing debris / some sort of paint which were clogging the injectors. Also were the 4 damaged injectors from the same engine?

Hey Vida,

I have 98' MAG MPI 5.7 Mercruiser's.

Injectors don't seem to be clogged, they are crossed (burn at the plug - in spanish: "cruzados").

Yesterday I change another one, same history, burn at the plug, the engine gets very sluggish with the bad injector.

I have checked the wiring harness and everything was ok.

What can be causing this?

Thanks!
