Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

I'll like to hear opinions on replacing or modifying my 98' 310 engine mufflers.

Is there a kit that can be purchased already made?

My mechanic wants to extend the current pipes on the mufllers, but I'm not convinced on this.

Any input will be appreciated.

Trying to avoid water ingestion.

I am planning on repainting the bottom of my 2000 310 DA and after looking at it out of the water, I cannot determine if the color is faded black or brown. What is the typical color that searay used on this model. It looks the same as pictures I have seen on this thread. Thanks.

The color doesn't matter, most bottom paints are available in multiple colors. You need to find out what type of paint you have on and make sure what you are applying can go on top of it.

There are some paints that can go on any types, some that can't.

Looking for a camper top for 2001 310 Sundancer, I know that Great Lakes does not provide it so it must be custom made. Any suggestion for manufactorers?

2001 Searay 310 Sundancer with twin Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI with Hurth V-Drives. Being on plane at 22kt with 3800RPM stabilized, the port engine started loosing power and RPM decreased to around 2100 fluctuating (fluctuations around 1500 to 2700 RPM) and the boat went out of plane. Engine temp and oil pressure were normal. I reduced the port engine to about 2000RPM and the fluctuation disappeared but when I was trying to advance the throttle the fluctuation was reappearing. I shifted the trasmission lever to NEUTRAL and advanced the throttle and the engine seemed to respond without any problem, smooth RPM increase, no fluctuations (RPM drop-fluctuations under load). Any suggestion?

Hello Cabrale, is the canvas top still available? Is frame included? Could you email me some photos?

Thanks

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not I will repost it. I have a brand new never used canvas top in tan from my 2001 310 sundancer this is the 3 pieces behind the arch. I guess it's the slant back style. Ordered it by mistake. If anyone's interested let me know $1200. By the way I have my 310 for 7 years now and by far it's the best boat I have ever owned. Absolutely love it

Could you please provide me the details of the manufacturer and some pics as well? Thanks

We did our '98 310 from the angle back to camper back. All custom bars. New canvas on all pieces, and strata replacements. Screens. It was just under $7k

Ours cost about $4000. We got pictures from billnpat and they were great. We gave the pictures to our canvas guy and he used it as a guide. We are very happy with the canvas. If you are going to do it, I'd be happy to send you pictures of what we did.

Has anyone done any retrofits to their seacock shutoff handles to make them more accessible on a regular basis? I was thinking of installing an extension handle to make it easier to open and close on a regular basis, seeing how difficult they are to reach.

Any ideas here?

Thanks in advance!

It was custom made so there isn't a manufacturer to give you. I'm happy to send some pictures. PM me your email address and I'll send them.

Seems to me like a spark plug or spark plug wire problem. the computer compensates in low RPM on load any piston that doesn't fire or work will lower the HP on load. I would start by checking spark plugs and or wires. Also in neutral the computer will only let you increase RPM to a specific point. Next would be the distrubutor cap which could be oxidized and full electrical power distrubution again not full to all cylinders. Hope this is helpful. Vida.

Hello,
I have a 2000 310 Sea Ray with inboards that are using 16x15's props. I see the Sea Ray website / manual suggests 16x15's or 16x17's. I brought the boat new in 2000, however, the boat was out of my hands for 5+ years. Therefore, I dont know if the boat still is using the original props, but when I got the boat back last year the performance has been horrible. I used to run at 3600 RPM and get 22GPH at 21kts.
Now I run at 3600RPM and im berning 36GPH and beeting 16kts. The engines have been tuned. The props have been tuned.
I'm puzzled as to what to ask the shop to do for me during commissioning.
Does any have the same boat to talk prop's and performance?
Thoughts?

Hmmm. That's interesting. Sea Ray must have made some sort of significant change between 2000 and 2002, because my 2002 with Horizons has 17x20 props. The 2002 MPIs were spec'd to run 17x19's.

Will probably be asking some dumb questions as I've moved from a trailerable boat with a cuddy to my 310. So here's the first:

What is this? I looked in the manuals online and couldn't find anything.

It is the fuel selector for sure. I do have them in my 310.

:smt024Fuel selector switches for sure, pretty nice to have especially if you have a gen set you can pull from either tank.
