Boat came out yesterday. FYI, myself and 2 other dock mates use Underdog bottom paint from Jamestown Dist. Look it up... You can't beat the price. I've used it for 3 years now and I'm very impressed with how well it works. A quick pressure washing and it still looks like it did before launching.

Seahorse comes out on Thursday for cleaning and paint. The props should be here on Tuesday. This will be her first bottom painting since I bought her 3 1/2 years ago. I will try to post some pictures when she is all done

Ok Tgirl payback  We do it in the water all the time 

Cut the seacocks off, remove the lid, pull the strainer basket out and clean it. I also take a wet vac and clean the strainer glass out. Reassemble but be sure to tighten the cap evenly. Don't forget to cut the seacocks back on when done.
Touche'! (But the last people who did that around here were on antibiotics for a month....served 'em right for ignoring that there were children in the area!)

But now I'm on the right page about replacing the gaskets--thanks!

Perko 0493 cork gasket set. $15 from Defender. Just type it into thr search on their site.
'preciate it!

Good news--found a guy at my own marina who has really great haul-out prices for folks doing in-lot repairs, so that should leave me more gas money!

I may need your contact when I do my haul out. I'm at Priest at FCM.

They pulled me out today, three days early. I did go out on the river for about an hour before the lift.
New props come in tomorrow and I found out that the aluminum anode don't work in brackish water. All now need to be replaced after only six months. They came out looking just like my zinc after over a year.

Im happy you found someone to pull the boat Tg If they are going to do it soon then just replace those gaskets while the boat is high and dry. You should still try to do the seacocks just to be sure they work and to clean out the strainer baskets. I try to clean mine out about every other month but we have a lot of grass and stuff floating around in the river.

Sure thing. You want to wait to see how well he does on mine, or just go ahead and call him?

Will you be out watching Power on Priest this weekend?

Oh jeez--that bites.

Yes, planning haul out in the next couple of weeks. Much less concerned about the risk of finding any major jobs to do, now that I know I'm not going to go broke just getting it into the lot!

I'll wait to see how it goes for you. I have some stuff to finish up at the house so I don't think I'll make it out there this weekend.

I pulled the boat a little early this year due to the n'oreaster and noticed some unusual corrosion. Both inboard trim ram zincs were worn almost completely, just a small scrap of zinc and the screws left. However, the two outboard ram zincs were almost totally intact with what I'd call normal wear, like I've seen in previous years. Usually, all four anodes show some wear and need to be replaced for the following season, but I've never had one wear so much more that the other. Also found it odd that it was both inboard rams that had the wear, anybody else ever see this? I want to figure this out so I can correct the problem prior to next spring. If I'd left the boat in the water until late Nov. as I usually do, I could have had some serious ram corrosion since the zincs were gone.

Has anyone changed their inboard props? I'm having an issue getting the prop to get in behind the rudder and onto the shaft. It's a bit to tight. I might try to disconnect the rudders from the bar that joins them together so I could turn them just a bit more

Anyone know the distance between the prop shafts? I just picked up my trailer today and I need to get the bunks in the approximate position. Thanks.

Sorry, can't help ya on this...

I can measure tomorrow afternoon when I go down to winterize... Man I hate saying that.

Mark I just got home. On one side I had to disconnect the rudder and the prop went right on. The other side I had to drop the rudder out and remove it to get the prop on. I don't know why it was so tight.

Good job!! Can't wait to hear the results. Did you replace the packing for the rudders?

What are the exact measurements that you'll need. I can take some pics also.

I didn't have to but yes I went ahead and did repack the one rudder I had to drop out.

I have to be at the marina around 8am tomorrow. If you can tell me what you need I will measure mine and post it in the morning

The distance from the outside of one prop shaft to the outside of the other prop shaft. I need to make sure two beams on the trailer are set wide enough apart that both prop shafts go in-between the beams.

I'm sorry I just got the post. I am going to work on the boat around 11EST and will do the measurement first thing. I left my iPad at home

Tt I just thought of something, our rudders sit just outside of center of the tunnels. Do you need that measurement as well?
