Official 1980's Weekender/Sundancer 300 thread

Has anyone managed to change their through hull fittings and not take the engines out?
We never did get my gimble rings changed this summer but we will in the spring. I am being hauled out on a trailer this year so it can get done. I plan a big overhaul of the boat fixing a lot of little things in late April, May and early June so we can head north to the North Channel probably for the last time in this boat anyway. I have a snake river tank monitor system that I have had for 7 years got it as a gift, about time I put it on.
Our next boat will be a diesel the size is the only issue, maybe win Lotto Max and really get what I want. lol

Uh, what? I must have missed something. You're selling? And down-sizing?

Yes... Moving to Bluffton/Hilton Head in the spring and didn't want to keep a boat in the water. Hunting down a 215 w/ a trailer. That will be perfect for down there.

We'll miss you on this thread, but good luck with your 215 search.

Bought one tonight, picking it up on Sunday! Will post pics when I get it home.

BTW, the new owner of the 300 LOVES IT!! They had to run it thru 2' seas to get her home. It was a 15 mile run. He said never skipped a beat and rides fantastic.

I will never leave this thread.

Anyone have a measurement from bow eye to transom for a 300? I'm setting up my new trailer and need thus for winch post placement. I know it will be less than 30 feet but can only guess right now. Thanks

She is home! Needs a good cleaning and new front and side isinglass panels. Other then that she is good to go.

Mark, if you need any parts let me know.

Question, has anyone put speakers in the arch? Do they even make them thin enough to fit in the lower arch?

What kind of parts??

Speakers won't fit, I tried a pair of Polks that were for shallow installs. In was going to make a spacer to build it out and never got around to it.

They have one in the boat yard that is abondoned, it's been there for over 5 years. The boat is pretty much trash

Ok, but that would be stealing... or borrowing...

Rescuing ... I'm debating buying the two SeaRay's back there for parts. One of them has a fuel injected 454. The other has twin 350's. Both are trash but if I can get them for $100 each or less it might be worth it.

The 39' around the 30 /40 range? I'm looking at one as well. Also a 89
