My 88 EC is new to us and is need of some serious help on the upper deck. I have already scrubbed and am now in the process of removing as much oxidation as possible. I don't want to wax the non skid but am looking for that shine we all like to see. Woodys Wax looks like it might be the ticket but I wasn't really impressed with it after applying it on the cockpit floor.

I need to do something here to protect my deck and am looking at the minds here on the forum to lend some suggestions. Thanks as usual for the assistance.

Jeff, I use Starbrite Nonskid Deck Cleaner/Protector with PTEF and am very happy with it. Cleans the deck pretty well and leaves behind a bit of shine but stills retains traction. No yellowing that I have seen or heard of as can occur with Woody Wax. I try to apply it first before doing any areas below the deck that may exposed to run-off; not sure it takes off polish but prefer not to risk it.

Another + to starbright deck cleaner.... I like collinite 920 as well to help bring the shine back... a lot of L-bow grease but worth it...

You will have to buff with compound and wool cutting pad to remove the oxidation or I don't think you can have any good results. All the starbrights and woody wax's won't do much on oxidation.

This is pretty easy job because it is a horizontal surface. The tricky part will be the walk around areas. Your standard 9 inch wheels won't fit. You will need to find a 5 -6 inch wool wheel and remove handle on rotary buffer to sneak in between rails. 3m has 6 inch wool pads.

Do what HiFi said then use Aurora Sure Step non-skid wax.
Easy to apply and keeps the deck clean all season.
Do a search on this site for Aurara Sure Step for more info.
I love it but it is $$$. I use 5 jars wax and 1 bottle of Deck Scrub for two coats on my 340 EC deck. Cost me near $140, but worth every penny. A slip and fall cost more.

I use Aroura Sure Step but I am using less than one can for one coat on deck and walkaround. Our boats are about same size. I know gouping it on heavy assures total coverage but 5 cans sounds like too much waste. Keep in mind only a micro thin layer is what sticks. I too like the results of Sure Step.

Compound it very well and then follow with Woody Wax. I used Sure Step but Woody Wax is the easiest to apply.

Just did this to my foredeck and used woody wax for the first time.. very easy application, doesn't take much, and there are periods of libation consumption waiting for the water/wax to dry. Like the results so far!
