Ok. I am kind of new to this type of thing. Our non skid bow on our 1992 was waxed. However, we keep getting these block "dots" in the non skid surface. It takes a heck of alot of scrubbing. Any ideas what causes this and an easy way to clean and keep this from happening?

Thanks

Sorry helman but I would not use SOS pads on fiberglass. I use a little spray nine and a stiff brush as I am washing the boat.....certainly annoying, I have assumed it is spider crap?

A little bleach on a rag does wonders to those spots. I do not advocate waxing the non skid with anything that will make is slippery, but once you have bleached, just rewax the spot. I wipe the non skid once a year with a bleach solution, and then use Woody Wax on it several times over the season. Seems to keep it nice and clean, and sealed.

SOS pad works great!

Yipes! That sounds a bit aggressive to me.

I agree with the Spray Nine and Woody Wax approach. Works for me. Some of the guys on my dock use bleach too, but I prefer the spray nine approach. No worries about getting it where it shouldn't be...

The black spots could also be mold. Bleach would certainly kill it. We get mold here and there are no spiders. You could also use Soft Scrub with bleach with a brush to get into the non skid.

When I bought my first 330 it came from Seattle and all the non-skid areas were covered with mold spots. The only thing I found that worked was to spread a little scouring powder on the wet deck areas then scrub it lightly with a medium deck brush.

I used boat soap and a stiff brush on the spider calling cards left on my 270DA up on lake Erie. Once most of the spot is removed it's amazing what the Sun will do. After a couple of sunny days you would never know they were there.

Don't Knock it till you try it.

Have you tried Starbrite non skid cleaner. Super easy to use.
+1....Used today and it is fantastic.....One bottle has gone for three seasons so far....not much non-skid for me

Starbrite Non skid for me as well with all drooping stains, including Spider Poop. Jut squirt it on, spread with a brush, wait 5 minutes, and hose off.

Works great on all stains I encounter.

I tried the Starbrite non-skid cleaner recently, and loved it. I also tried their chrome/stainless polish, and the sinks looked factory fresh; and, amazingly have actually STAYED looking great for 3 weeks now!!!!

CLEAN.

Use Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Available in supermarkets. Only needs a little water and works real well with minimum "elbow grease".

+1 on Magic Eraser - I buy them at Sam's Club, container of 10 for $10. Great for removing black carbon deposits which conme from the fork lifts at the marina.
