No More Oil Changes For My Diesel Engines

Without kissing too much A$$, Gary had some really funny ones here.

Not only does oil suspend metalic particles and mositure it also holds acids created by combustion that will will eat away metal. Oil is changed at the end of the season so that if the boat sits over the winter it will not sit with hazardeously contaminated oil in the sump and in contact with the other metal parts like bearings.

This system while it sounds interesting, it appears very dangerous to me.

Last year I installed Oil Mates on my the 3126 Cats and my diesel genset. I now have 200 hrs on the Oil Mates (Cat) and they have been performing as advertised. I'm sharing this because the cost of petroleum products are outrageous.

Oil Mate™, by Engineered Machined Products (EMP), is a patented advanced oil management system for diesel engines that significantly extends oil change intervals (4000 hrs) and filter life (1000 hrs) in order to decrease downtime and lengthen an engine's life span. It is an automatic oil exchange system for any diesel engine - it changes oil while the engine is running!

This system removes a small amount of used engine oil and blends it with diesel fuel to be burned during combustion. The used oil is then replaced with an equal amount of fresh oil from a make-up tank, extending oil and filter use. Oil Mate™ outperforms every competitor on the market and operates within emissions guidelines.

Oil Mate™ does not affect the engine's flow or pressure. It is not a replacement for the filtration system - it improves and works in conjunction with the oil system and can be retrofitted to your existing engine.

I know there is going to be some pros and cons out there, but if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

I believe a type of system like this has been in use by OTR truckers for many years. Try to imagine if they had to stop for regular oil changes.

No, don't delete the thread. Sure it's an ad, but it's instructive in detecting snake oil salesmen. Gary's log dilution post and Frank's oil is cheaper than rebuilds posts rebut nicely.

Best regards,
Frank

I didn't say anything about solids. I was just referring to liquids... like urine or the broth that occurs with a log floating in water.

That would be the 'natural log' .....2.178 or something like that....right?.....

OH!!! I thought he Frank C. was referring to a log being... well... a "log" in the poop sense floating in a toilet bowl. I like to use the full word of "logarithm" so there is no confusion between taking a dump and doing a logarithm (they are both "natural" as well). You can do both at the same time you know...

This thread has really gone down the toilet.
