No I'm looking at something different

I have twin 350s and cruise in the high teens to low 20s. Mileage is about .8 mpg. I held out for a boat with a generator and I'm glad I did.
Yours is a much different boat than the one discussed in this post. Apples and oranges.

I went to see the Boston Whaler, I did not take any picture's so here's one he had posted. It is a 1989 11 foot with a 15 hp. It looks like something off the show room floor and comes with a trailer. This thing is heavy. How good is it going to work taking it up on the beaches of Lake Michigan? Right now I have the 9 foot Zodiac Fastroller. I can pull that up on the beach and get it off by myself. ((Primary use for Dinghy) This Whaler, that don't look possible. Maybe I don't want to deal on the whole package like I thought.

We sold our 1996 Silverton 37 Convertible last fall after 8 years of ownership. It was the successor, but the performance was similar. We graphed out the fuel flow vs. speed to come up with performance figures. We figured we'd get 0.6 smpg on plane, and 1.4 smpg going leisurely down the river at about 1200 RPM. An average 1.0 for our time of ownership would be about right. If we lived on the Great Lakes, we'd spend more time at higher RPMs, but their was no hurry on the river. It was a pig on plane, but in retrospect, we didn't spent much time there. I always said diesels for the next one, only to miss having that boat and it's relatively inexpensive upkeep.

This is a Sea Ray forum, so you'll find bias again Silvertons. While it is somewhat of a value brand, I'd definitely consider one in that kind of condition. As much as I like Sea Rays, it can be tough to find a twenty+ year-old boat in really good condition any more. As for the genset, another option would be a good invertor system for everything but the AC and heat.

Love my 270/290 but would only buy a larger twin engine boat with a Genny. Having AC and Heat while on the water is priceless! Love it at the dock so on the water would have to be even better!!!

Still no purchase of any boat. Still have this noSilverton on the list. We're about $3000 off on striking a deal. Seen some searay 36 aft for sale, they sound not so good with almost no dead rise.
