This little beauty was brought into our arms at 12:45 AM this morning. He is a healthy 8 lbs 11 ounces and 20" long. We are still working on a name- Skipper was over ruled by the Admiral.

How about an informal poll?

How long did the father in your relationship take off of work to be with the wife and newborn?

My wife works full time at a director level at an ad agency. She is planning on taking a full three months off. I am planning on a few days or a week or so- depending on her/ baby needs. I have friends that have gone to work the day the baby left the hospital vs my European colleagues that have taken at least a month off.

Thoughts?

I worked whilst my wife was in hospital, then from memory I took a fortnight off.

Congratulations. As to time off, take some now and then some more in six months they change so fast and it's a one time deal.

The little guy took his first boat ride today. We were tied to the dock in the pic. If he could talk he would say that he had a great time!
